I know that slayers never wound on worse than a 4+ , as their strength increased to their opponants toughness. So would the +2S from the great weapon be added on top of that, or would they get the +2S first and then increase their strength to the opponants toughness if it is highter than 6.

for example, when fighting a black coach (t6), would a slayer with a great weapon be at S6 or S8?

Strength is increased after other modifiers, such as Great Axe, so a Slayer can never have better S than 6 without using Runic Weapons.

Technically a slayer can get up to S 7, I believe, when fighting warmachines, but that hardly matters I guess :) Listen to WLBjork and you won't be wrong.

Basically, against anything T6 or higher there's no point using the great weapons, use the extra hand weapons instead. Good old slayer axes.

I've had my Troll Slayers march over the table and kill themselves a Hellcannon once in a while. Yes - two hand weapons are usually the best option.

Nope, max strength of 6 without Magic Weapons (just rechecked it ;) )

True, and duly noted.
