I read something a while back about theoretical 'superterrestrials', creatures whom share the earth with us (and always have) but exist slightly beyond our perceptions... Supposedly many sighting of 'them' have the creature appear as a 'super hero' able to fly with a cape etc. The stories attribute a semi mischevious personality to some of the creatures -- some enjoy freaking humans out others take it a little bit into the realm of scaring humans.

The mothman is supposedly one of these creatures...
