Technically this is background, but it's more history.

Was the Necron Codex renewed for 4th edition? I'm thinking it wasn't considering how it looks 3rd edition.

Basically, were the rules written with 4th edition in mind?

Thanks for the comments.

The Necron codex came before 4ed.

I would've thought this to be a 40K General question, though. This is more like the "fluff" section...

Middle 3rd edition, still valid and playable. Not broken with 4th edition. background also hasn't changed. Don't expect new Necron Codex this year or the next.

no, Necrons havent had a 4th ed release yet (see the opening para of their FAQ which says as much).

supposedly, but they didnt get everything right (Tomb Spyders who make Scarabs got nerfed by the Maj T rule, for example). some of their other rules got updated through the rulebook itself, for example: the 4th ed rules for Tank Shock and Sweeping Advance both mention WBB.

hope that helps :)

So it was written in 3rd edition. Damned liars tried to pass it off as 4th edition.

As long as there isnīt a 4ed codex and the 3rd ed dex is not discontinued, the current is still valid, there is no reason to not play with/against it just because it got out before 4ed rulebook.

I know that. But when it refers to a rule that no longer exsists in 4th edition, which would you go with?
