Just wondering, what do people think are the best ways of kitting out units of CSM

ie, Chosen, CSM, Havoks, Raptors and Bikers...

I think Havoc's with 4 missile launchers work very well, it has done for me.

4 Missile Launcher squads are always fun.

But the secret joy of a havoc squad and 4 melta guns, in a rhino, leaves me smiling too!

I've always wanted to try that, I've just been fearful of the rhino getting smashed to pieces.

Chaos marines: 7 chaos marines, 1 plasmagun, aspiring champ with power fist. Squad has icon of chaos glory. In a rhino.

Chosen: 5 chosen w/ missile launcher and plasmagun.

Havocs: 9 havocs w/ 3 flamers and 1 meltagun, champion w/ powerfist. Squad has icon of chaos glory. In a rhino.

Raptors: unit of 7 with flamer and meltagun, plus champion w/ power weapon and meltabombs.

Bikes: 3 bikers with 2 meltaguns.

I've been pondering on a squad of 10 marines, with either two meltas or two flamers, and a sarge with a combi weapon, in a rhino.

Raptors ftw= For the Win, truthfully I don't even have the new codex so I haven't been able to try anything new.

For me, the basic CSM loadout probably closely resembles the Salamanders:

10 men. 2 special weapons (double plasma, double melta, or melta / flamer, depending on my mood). Icon of Chaos Glory. Aspiring champ with power fist. Rhino.

A touch pricey, but you get a mobile unit that can hold positions, take out vehicles or elite troops, kick butt in close combat, and probably hold even when they lose. Along with the Rhino, to either be a huge annoyance if they are out of it, or a speed enhancer if they are in it.

Edit: Drop the rhino and swap a special for a heavy if you want a unit to just anchor your line. I tend to play mobile, though.
