View Full Version : Ideas for a Tau Mech Army

This is simply to ask what you think this will do. It is not a list because I don't have point or upgrades in it. It is just an idea i thought of before making a list for it. Here it goes.

Taking 2 - 3 12 man firewarriors with devilfishes but starting them out of it.

A Path finder team with a devilfish and starting them out of it.

2 Pirannas with fusion Blasters

3 Skyrays for anti tank.

As for HQ and Elites i dont know yet. It is just a skeleton, thoughts?

Why start the firewarriors out of their fish? That's giving up their main advantage, mobility.

I think you would be better with at least 1 railhead than 3 skyrays.

Other than that, fine.

9 broad sides, 2 squads of fire warriors with transports, 18 crisis suits, and a crisis suite HQ with retinue.

That is exactly what I wanted to not the the generic Battlesuit list(listen to me a Necron player not wanting a generic army list pwwt).

Secondly I wanted them out of it during set up mostly because I would block movement lanes with all of those skimmers(minus the skyrays until they ran out of missles) and fire under.

You need at least one crisis suit- the commander's 1+. I'd recommend Hammerheads and piranhas over Skyrays and Pathfinders to start. Add some kroot, along with the devilfish squads, and you'll be good.
