drop the awakening to get dark acolyte. also, replace a scroll with a powerstone.

Drop one unit of skellies and one of fell bats to get some black knights with banner of the barrows.

I sometimes give a sword of unholy power to my count, but it is a bit risky. sometimes he has too many power dice for him to use, and sometimes he doesnt get any at all.

Overall, your force seems to lack any decent offensive stuff in it, which is why i suggested using the knights. Also, a powerstone can come in really handy for a crucial point in the game, when you really need a dance macabre or lv11 invokation but dont have the dice for it.

Also, you might want to drop the staff for a book of arkhan and a powerstone. The staff can be decent if used correctly, but can easily be dispelled.

i dont really like all the bats, it would work against massed heavyt artillery but might still be lacking in punch, a nice 24 strong gg unit with halberds, and warbanner would be a nice edition, but then again you really need a wight lord/thrall to lead em, its just getting the points :), but nice list for empire!

Not really sure why, to be honest O_o
Since the list will rely on raising models to cover the Knights advance :)

Oh, and Book is on the Count, right in the middle of the army, eh? Or should I give the Staff to the Count and give the Necro the Book?
Hmm...
So the list would look like this:

Necrarch Vampire Count 358
Level 2 Wizard, Nightmare, Barding, Biting Blade, Ring of the Night, Staff of Damnation, Dark Acolyte

Necromancer 150
Level 2 Wizard, Book of Arkhan, Dispel Scroll

Necromancer 140
Level 2 Wizard, Dispel Scroll, Black Periapt

Necromancer 140
Level 2 Wizard, Power Stone, Dispel Scroll

19 Skeletons 195
Light Armour, Spears, Musician

19 Skeletons 195
Light Armour, Spears, Musician

19 Skeletons 195
Light Armour, Spears, Musician

6 Black Knights 210
Barding, Standard Bearer, Banner of the Barrows

4 Fell Bats 80

3 Fell Bats 60

The staff is expensive for an item that can easily be dispelled, but if used correctly it can be somewhat effective

Ah, yes, but that's why you save it till last... Since my opponent will wanna dispel the Book and the IoNs first, well, ;)

maybe in the first turn of combat, but from then on (as soon as he knows you have the staff) he will keep at least one dice for it.

Oh well, then I can tempt it out with other stuff, or just use Curse and get it cast cuz they won't dispel it ;)

Just wondering, can you use bound items when you have a remains in play spell without dispelling it?

UltimateNagash

Oh, erm, well... Dunno - but I would keep Curse only till it did the 5+ thing, and then cancel it to cast other spells, finishing off with the Staff and the Curse

Yeah, curse of years really only gets good when it wounds on a 5+
