Well we all know that the Eye of Terror was formed when Slaanesh was born. And that got me thinking.

a. Assume that the Emperor actually manages to become a Warp God.
b. Terra and many nearby systems are wiped out from the Materium due to the birth.
c. All Emperor worshipers who die get their souls pledged to eternal servitude to the Warp Emperor.

1. Would it be an Immaterium utopia of Order as opposed to Chaos? Something that would have Ethereals drooling if they could actually believe it?
2. Would the souls of those worshipers be turned into holy daemons aka angels?
3. Seraphim Primarchs doing battle with Daemon Princes. How cool would that be?
4. Machine spirits are real after all. And they fight for the Emperor.

'Order' in the Warp would be a lack of any sentient beings at all. Thinking of the Warp as an ocean is good here, because the ocean is wild, sometimes being smooth and sleek, othertimes being a tsunami rolling over you. Every droplet of water in the Ocean is a sentient creature's reflection in the Warp.

However, if you want to make it so that the sea will remain constant and still forever, rather than be in constant turmoil, then you will have to drain the ocean. I mean, when all that is left is barren rock that used to be the sea bed, there's nothing to predict.

Eliminate the souls that feed the Warp and the Warp will return to its calm, orderly state. That's what the C'tan aim to do - turn the Warp from a wild, frenzied ocean into a lifeless pit that is no threat to them.

So, you want order? Sign up today for Pariahdom.

The emperor doesn't really exemplify order. He exemplifies the salvation of humanity. The Emperor as Warp God would represent a spiritually and mentally balanced humanity that incorporates the positive and negative into a single harmonious whole.

Gotta agree with Temmy there.

That would certainly make for an interesting story to be honest!

If one presumes that the Eldar "gods" where such because the Old Ones created them as one of the first synergetic races, and that the Eldar fall led in part to the stress/striff and "chaotic" nature of the warp as currently expressed... Then it is no wonder that the Warp is increasingly wild now, with more races and more undisciplined minds, its chaotic nature is increasingly assured.

Should the Emperor achieve a "godhood" then it would undoubtedy resemble the relationship the Eldar gods had with the Eldar. The form this god takes, if shaped by the canon of the Imperium, would be far less fractured then the polytheism of the Eldar... Perhaps loosely Machean(sp?), good/evil in ballanced opposition...

I think the real question is, who is control of the greatest synergetic expression of humanity? This is the nature of the struggle in the Inquisition, I believe. The Emperor was created to save humanity, by a technocratic syndicate of some sort. The Inquisition (in its three forms) is what is left of the idealism of this syndicate. The mentality of one of these groups will need to gain dominance in the gestalt(sp?) psyche of humanity for the Emperor to ascend... If it is just a matter of critical mass in general, then the "nature" of the Emperor's "godhood" will be more fractured.

The emporer left the great crusade to try to help the whole of humanity to ascend to a greater stage of evolution.

He didnt get it finished because the Chaos powers knew they would have their power over humans all but eliminated.

Horus and the other primarches were taken from their father to prevent the first steps (see: Great Crusade), this partially worked as only half became corrupted. THe corrupted primarches were the pawns of chaos and their mission was the prevention of humanity itself achieving greatness.

The Emperor already is a warp power, if a minor one, so unless you buy into the Star Child stuff, it won't happen. As he is, the Emperor's not big enough to work on the same scale that the Chaos gods do. Humanity is too spiritually weak to cause the kind of mayhem the Eldar did, in either case.
