After playing a game where i controlled Kharn and a merry bunch of berzerker's across a table, hacking and slashing at many a marine I was hooked, I needed to do a World Eaters army.
I rummaged around in my bitz and came up with nothing, a few bezerkers and a Kharn model missing a head....and axe.....and leg.... (Donít ask me how I don't know) So I still need to make a few, well a lot of purchases but I am making a start already.

First up is The Harvester, a Khorne Daemon Engine, from a chaos held forgeworld no longer are the STC's building tanks but unimaginable horrors, Daemon Engines of all sorts spew forth to wreak havoc on imperial armies. The latest such sighting is The Harvester, based on the Baneblade STC this behemoth utilises both standard tank tracks and stalk legs to manoeuvre quicker than that standard superheavy, bristles with standard and non-standard weaponry and carries a front mounted destroyer for mowing down infantry, ripping open tanks and destroying buildings/fortifications

Second is a beginnings of my Khorne Daemon prince, while rummaging through my bitz I found one of my inquisitor minis and immediately pulled him apart, stripped the paint off and started converting him. The head and army will be replaced by bitz from the new chaos spawn, I was going to build an axe form him but decided his bloodlust had grown so much he had to rip things apart with his hands now

BTW still plenty of greenstuffing to do on both models, I have some greenstuffed cast skulls drying atm as well for the Daemon Engine

Daemon Prince looks VERY promising! Definitely want to see some mockups using those Spawn parts.

awesome looking BB mate, im loving the legs on it, it kinda gives the impression that it sets up on the legs to fire kinda like the siege tanks from starcraft, and the big spiky thing is tops!

Nice use of the tyrus mini btw cant wait to see this guy finished

Your demon prince has potential. I am really looking forward to see more from him.

That demon prince looks like it's gonna be very cool looking. I love the idea of it wanting to tear people apart with it's own hands!

love the gs work on the back of the BB,
just wondering do you have any more defiler legs? because im seeing enough space at the back to have a set angled backwards a bit to make it seem a little more stable. Also the zerker is cool, im not a fan of the mini in the bare plastic but when painted they always look so cool.
keep up the good work mate and get those pics of the demon prince up!

I do have a set (was keeping them for a brass scorpion) The Harvester is pretty stable on it's current legs and I have toyed with putting an extra set on but there isn't as much room at the back as you think, the photos are a bit misleading - In the flesh its a big monster with little room for extras to be put on as everything was planned and marked out where it would go on before putting it together. But when I get home I might blutack em on and check it out again

That is awesome. If you could somehow fuse a monolith and a mamokil into a titan you would be a god.

That really is looking like a monster of a model, keep up the updates.

While The Harvester is drying from undercoating (This thing is eating me out of glue and paint) I can put up some Daemon prince mock ups

Khorne Head with crab arm - unfortunately the khorne head seems a tad too small

Beast head with crab arm

Beast head with claw hand

And my favorite Beast Head with crab arm and spikes

very cool, not that much of a fan of the crab arm, i reckon a huge arm with a chain axe or something would make this guy go off, the head and spikes are cool additions. And yeah i know what you mean about the baneblade taking up alot of glue and spray...

I'm umming and arring about a chain axe, part of me wants to but part of me doesn't. Yes he would look cool with a chain axe but I also want him moving up from bezerker to full blown khorne daemon prince ripping people apart with his hands

Much prefer the Beasthead and Spikes, but undecided on any of the arms.

Loving all the greenstuff work on the BB.

While I'm working out what to do with my daemon prince I've started to throw some paint on The Harvester

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x5/Raphuzal/turret.jpg

Chaos black undercoat, foundation paint red, red gore, dwarf bronze, chestnut ink
The photo is a bit dark, the red isn't as dark as the pic shows but it is a dark red colour

Wow, that would have taken some paint. How's that DP going? I dare you not to make anything standard SM size.

Keep up the awesome work.

Definately Beats head and the spikes.

Both arms seem a bit.. Thin. Maybe use both?

That looks cool man.

Maybe you could bulk out the arms?

The 'thing' on the lightning claw will be a World Eaters symbol 'growing' out of his armour

Now I'm just trying to build a jump pack for him (unfortunately a foot slogging daemon prince is going to be shot at - a lot so for him to actually be useful in a game he's going to need wings/jump pack)

Also I've done a datasheet for The Harvester for friendly games http://warseer.com/forums/2013283-post328.html

sweet! is all i can say about the demon prince, i get what you mean about wanting him to be ripping people apart...way more appropriate.
The colour scheme on the harvester is nice the dark red really suits it.
Can i be boring and suggest maybe wings over a jump pack, just might be easier...

LOL I was actually talked out of doing wings for him and came up with this

http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x5/Raphuzal/daemonpfin.jpg

So the daemon prince is (except for some tidying up) finished and ready to be painted, I feel I've worked enough on him and any more will just result in me stuffing up along the way, also The Harvester is eating through my paint :(

I like the DP! but I think that jumppack is a little weedy for such a huge model. maybe think about some other sources to help build it up; think bp pen caps, sprue, plasticard, gs... build a massive raptor style jumppack or some such.

its not as weedy as the pic conveys, it's quite big on him, plus my built up jump pack failed horribly

the way it is in real life would say it is looking like the overall size is large on the model, the pic shows that it's 2d form is smaller. In fact of life that thing could take the guy off the ground but i don't think it would do a lot, it wouldn't be as powerful as wings...though the idea and model still looks good.

The whole jumppack thing needs some work i think, mabey taking it off and working on a two booster one as this would look more real, as the 3 together makes them all seem rather weak. if yu placed two larger ones on the left and right body and something between them to hold it together it would look much more real and a willing jump pack for the model.

my two cents, hope i helped.

the jump pack looks ok, but as everyone says it seems pretty weedy compared to him. I think maybe adding bits that extend off the side like the csm backpack might solve this, not sure. But other than that its one fething cool looking DP. Keep up the good work, cant wait to see him painted mate.
As for the harvester, yeah something that big i think needs its own paint stash...i really dont want to try painting mine...as im probably going to spray it and at 12 bucks a can for the tamiya stuff i think ill go through about 80 bucks worth by the end of it...

No photos today, work and family stuff. Still painting The Harvester and the DP is on hold for the moment as I gather opinion on the jump pack from friends (so they can actually hold it and look at it close up and far away and see a zillion things a few photos cant show you, why dont we have some form of 3d holo photography yet ?)
