View Full Version : Slaanesh Winged Lord Log (first log, pics)

I wanted to share my WIP Slaanesh Lord. He is armed with the Blissgiver and obviously has been gifted with wings. He will be a Lieutenant of sorts in a larger Black Legion based force. I am open to feedback and ideas for a color scheme that will allow him to fit in with Black Legion while still showing some of his Slaaneshi "flair". Thanks for looking!

He looks great so far! Try to paint him in the regular BL colors, but paint the flesh and possessed areas in Slaanesh colors like pink and so on, that should work!

Awesome mix of parts and love the base, subtle but not too subtle.
Wings: They`re big, so they can really push the slaanesh theme. The muscles and struts(long hard bits) could be a purple that fades into a bone colour at the tips, all purple would work too. New growths would be a purple and then fade/blend it into a bone colour at the tips. The membranes/ flappy bits could be a pink. The armour could be BL style(black&gold), maybe the leg touching the base could be the same as the wings with the other leg`s thigh/upper pads the same. Give a bit of balance to them big-**** wings. The shoudler pads are close to the wings, so I would try a BL style. The mid torso/piping, go nuts (green/pink/blue)? The head is surrounded by the wings, but maybe if the main backpack parts are BL style, you could make the bionic bitz a gold and that huge horn match the wing struts, give abit of height to the mini. Flesh wise maybe a pinkish tone with some green and blues washes.
Armwise: Crabclaw left, hardened bone, build it up from a brown into a bone colour to get that hardarse feel. Exploding bitz right arm, match it up with the mid torso colours, blend it all in and go nuts. Rainbow destruction theme/blissgiver!:wtf:

Thanks for the feedback guys! I need to stop by the shop and get some purples and pinks for my paint collection. I am really liking the idea of rich purples blended into bone colors along with a Black Legion style on the armor plating. It will be a learning process with these new colors, but I am eager to start. Whatever I end up with as a color scheme for this guy will dictate what my Noise Marines will look like as well. I hope to have some pictures up before the weekend is out of some base colors.

Thanks again for the feedback, stay tuned!!

I have only begun with base colors after removing flash and priming him grey, I am using Bleached Bone, Warlock Purple, Black, and Boltgun for the base coat colors and washing/highlighting from there. Thanks for any more feedback or ideas!

EDIT: The basecoating is not done but I wanted to post something up. :D (this will hopefully keep me focused)

Lots of irons in the fire right now, but I tinkered with this guy for a bit. He is washed and edged with Warlock Purple again on most of the pink parts, I have barely started highlighting the Blissgiver sword. I am happy with the results so far on the wing "ribs" and I intend to highlight them up to Tentacle Pink along with other parts of his face and claw. Here is the WIP, thanks for feedback!

Good job on those wings

Looking really really nice.

Could I suggest altering the colouring of the blade a bit and making it more a deep purple or even a blue? At the moment the model just looks too pink and black. But I stand by my claim that it looks really nice :)

The more I see the bits of the new possessed kit in use the more tempted I am to throw together a unit of Tzeentch Chosen to accompany my traitor guard...

Maybe Liche Purple and Regal Blue as a base and highlight up for the sword?

On the metal have you concidered a Pink/Purple/Blue (one of them not all 3 :p) Wash over to give it that slightly glow effect, to tie it in with Slaanesh alittle more?

looking great so far

Back from the dead thread. :)

I got sidetracked by a few other projects but I did a bit more work on this guy. I am trying some extreme highlighting with Tentacle Pink, then I will wash it down with darkened Warlock Purple. He looks really brite due to flash and not being weathered back down but the color base is finally decided. Thanks for looking! Feedback is appreciated.
