**100? Crap. That's not easy. You can get 1300pts worth of Bretonnian knights for *108 pounds, and if you convert a couple of them to Characters, you could bolster that to 1500. It's a strong enough list (all Knights of the Realm is ALWAYS strong) but not the best.

I think it has been mentioned that ogre kingdoms are the best value in terms of a money : points ratio. Of course many claim they are tactically inferior to other armies but you can be the judge of that yourself. The battalion on it's own is over 700 points worth of models and you'll still have around 50 pounds to spend on extras.

I'm selling 4000pts of Bretonnia on ebay if you're interested, a bit over your price target. But for 4000pts and such a hard hitting list on sale it's a bargain!

i think dwarves can be made cheap now thats to skull pass. add a few cannons and a gyrokopter and your fine. gunline is boring ot play against, but it wins alot.

Don't know if that fits in , but I got the battalion, a butcher, a tyrant and a maneater, I can reach the 1500pts if they're all fully (and I mean fully, full command for all units, teeth gnobblars for the butcher, etc) kitted.

As for beating the others... gunlines, bowlines... heh, with ogres, you're in for a world of pain in any case.

Buy two ogre kingdoms battalions and convert three bulls into two butchers and a bruiser.

Equiped efficiently that gives you over 1900 points, and can probably be boosted to 2000 by using the bruiser as a tyrant.

From that you can choose your 1500pts- I suggest the above characters (sans tyrant) two units of 4 Ironguts, a couple of units of 'belchers, some gnoblars and the rest units of 3 bulls.

As much as I like my Ogres, they will not be a good choice if you're going to be facing a gunline, heavy tk archeres, wood elfs, and skyre skaven.

Those are roughly but not quite entirely the worst 4 armies you could possibly face

given the lists you are facing, considered a flying circus ? :p

As I remember you can get 2000 points in 5-6 models, that is:
Lord of Tzeentch on Dragon
3 chariots
2 mages to be put in chariots
2 monsters (shaggoth or giant)

I dont know what the price range is but it cant be too huge

Get on ebay, get bidding, get a great army for not much dosh, get rid of ogres as an idea.:D

For 100 you are seriously going to struggle buying anything competitive from GW, the big boxed sets in my mind are just there as a starter.

The lizardmen army box for 80 euros also yields a lot of points. two skink units of 12, with one being scouts, one large block of saurus warriors, and a unit of calvary, I think thats around 625 points, without command, without magic banners, and without heroes. I think you could easily add a box of calvary and a couple heroes and I bet that will be about 1500 fpoints for around 100 pounds, (If I can convert right.)

Bartertown or ebay are excellent places to go. Ive put together a 2000 point Orc army for ~70 (which im now going to sell as I cant be bothered painting them all! Just too much green!!) and have just picked up a chaos army of 30 warriors and 12 knights for 60. Add a few characters and a box of flagellants as marauders and I reckon that will be a good army :)

Why not do a Tzeentch flying circus deamon legion - hardly any figures at all, fairly quick to paint, hard, swift, mobile, magic heavy and cool too. I am sure you could get a good deal on eBay.
