From the ashes of failure (re; an entire Deathguard army made entirely from scout sprues & chaos milita bits, which now I think about it, may have been a tad on the optimistic side) rises a stinky phoneix of... probably more failure.

Never the less, I present to you Stinkfists II: The Power Fisters!

http://darknation.mancubus.net/chim1.jpg

Front detailing showing the rather dashing looking nurgling pilot.

http://darknation.mancubus.net/chim2.jpg

Side detail and cockpit interior. And a keyboard with the mark of nurgle in the background.

On route from forgeword are another squad of chaos militamen for me to utterly ruin. Oh, and a test pilot ogryn berzerker for me to see if I can jam a ripper gun into his meaty paws somehow.

Initial stages of the project are going... expensively. I rushed out to purchase a box set of empire flagellant models, going on the presumption that (a) the legs would be seperate from the bodies and (b) they would be the same scale as an Imperial guard model.

Fail. And fail.

So, it's back to GW tomorrow for an emergancy box set of cadians before the chaos milita torsos arrive.

In the meantime, we pay tribute to the fallen members of the Stinkfist I crusade. Sorry boys, but frankly you didn't look T5 enough.

I remember seein these dudes on dg.org (R.I.P), from what I remember the fluff of the army is great, the name of them is just classic gold. That chimeara is looking dope I love that nurgling pilot, is he one of the classic ones? Can't wait to see some more progress in that log, I got some death guard stew broiling myself, just need to snap some pics.;)

I quite like the models you have there. The scout and militia models mesh well together. Love the name of the army, especially since I was just listening to that song.

I sure hope you plan to use those militia/scout hybrids as something - good luck with the project.

Yeah, the nurgling is an old rogue trader issue model. So much better than the current crop of nurglings... hopefully we'll see a return to this style soon, what with the new RT-style bloodletters and everything.

Oh, and get that stew served, damn you.

In other news... still waiting for the forge world order to arrive, but I had a spare torso from Stinkfists MK1 lying around so I made a prototype... I was going to change the colour scheme somewhat, but after a few hours of faffing about I just ended up with what I started with.

Also, the chimera conversion is coming along nicely. Should be finished greenstuffing soon.

Uh... what else... um, been doing some Nurgly drawings that may or may not eventually feature in the army. I rather like them.

http://darknation.mancubus.net/pope.jpg

The Anti-Pope. Might do something like this for the force commander.

Some nice mutant zombie goodness.

Um... you have a very unique drawing style, to say the least! If you can provide closeups on the test model, we could give feedback before you go paint a bunch more.

darknation

Well, they are painted in exactly the same colours as the scouts really...

http://darknation.mancubus.net/ig2.jpg

Best photo I can get before summer comes and sunlight once again shines on scotland :p

http://darknation.mancubus.net/ig3.jpg

The scout squad (well, seven of them). I *might* add lasgun barrels to the bolters and call them Storm troopers. Might look a little cheesy tho. I'd need to totally reconvert the weapons really, add lasgun power packs and wires coming from the guns to the backpacks.

I'll try it at some point with some of the spare scout stuff I have lying about.

Well, Nurgle is pleased with my progress. So much so that he 'gifted' me with explosive diohorrea. In between mad dashes to the toilet, I used the time off work to put further work into the Stinkfists.

The royal mail have failed me once again, and my forgeworld stuff is still not here. Aside from hiding in the bushes tomorrow in order to assassinate the postman, there is little I can do regarding the milita themselves. So, I have continued working on the Stinktank I. I think it's pretty much finished.

I used an entire roll of greenstuff on this thing. I don't normally paint tanks either, so this thing ought to be a challenge. I'll undercoat it tomorrow once daylight is upon me.

Appologies for the short post, but I am in imminent danger of crapping myself once again. All praises to Nurgle!

Father nurgles blessings are grand indeed!

These guys are coming along very nicely, look forward to seeing more.

Very nice! I especially love the gun on the guy to the right of the seargent(the could-be Storm troopers) Make them all like that and you have the coolest storm trooper squad ever :)

I decided to take a chance and spray paint in the dark.

I will never, ever do something as stupid as that again.

Anyway, nothing says chaos like rusty, rotting meat.

http://darknation.mancubus.net/ig8.jpg

In other news, I wrote up a 500pt army list as something to aim for. It's pretty cheesy, containing as it does two tanks.

HQ

Command Platoon

1 Junior Officer with lasgun. 4 Guardsmen with lasguns. 40pts

Troops

Infantry Platoon (2 Squads)

1 Sergeant with Lasgun. 9 Guardsmen with lasguns.. 60pts

1 Sergeant with Lasgun. 7 Guardsmen with lasguns. I heavy weapon team with Autocannon. 75pts

Armoured Fist Squad

1 sergeant with Lasgun. 6 Guardsmen with lasguns. 1 with Meltagun. One heavy weapons team with Lascannon. Mounted in a Chimera with muti-laser and heavy bolter.. 180pts

Heavy Support

Leman Russ Tank with Battle Cannon and Heavy Bolter. 145pts

500pts total.

They look awesome.

Why the Lascannon in the AF squad?
Wouldn't it be more useful in the infantry squad?

darknation
05-11-2007, 00:30
Dunno why really, I'm new to this whole guard thing. I thought I'd zoom the lascannon over the table in the chimera and dump it somewhere annoying for my opponent before zooming away again. Kill indirect fire nastyness etc.

What else would I do with an AF squad anyway? Forgive me, I've been an ork + chaos fan my entire life, so if a plan doesn't end with "Assault!" then it confuses me.

AbyssRaven

Wouldnt that Lascannon be better in the normal infantry platoon? since the AF will be moving and the infantry will just be shooting?

Love the tank, looks amazing

Lmao!

"Step 1: See enemy
Step 2: ?
Step 3: Chaaarge!"

But yeah, putting that Lascannon in the other Line Squad will be a better choice. Preferably I would change the Lascannon to another Autocannon for the Line Squad and use the 10 points to put Smoke Launchers on the Chimera and Russ.

can i put in a request?

if you have any SM models and when you get the torsos from forge world cound you show me a SM model bluetacked togeather with a RENEGADE MILITIA torso. If it works it could make a rely kool nurgel army.

ty :)

great looking colour scheme!!
love the idea of using space marine scouts legs and arms seen it done on cadian torsos, didnt think it would work as well on militia torsos. might have to steal that idea!!

cant wait to see more. if your chimera is anything to go by then i truly cant wait until your russ is done.

by the way, cant help but mention that you havent got a platoon command squad in your list.

You need a second command sqaud for your infantry platoon, you cant use the same on from your HQ option.

Also i would move the lascannon from the AF squad and give it to either your command squad or the 2nd infantry squad.

Damnit, I knew it was too good to be true. Ah well. Will just bump my first block up to 750 points and fill things out a little with options and bigger guns.

Also, painting tanks is slow going. Building up to bleached bone from a chaos black = an eternity of pain.

Just finished the best model of my career. It is perfect in all respects and regards and anyone who says otherwise is quite obviously an idiot.

Still, nearly finished the main body of the beast. Forgeworld order *still* not here...

Getting a bit pissed off waiting for it to be honest. I need a few pieces of brass etching before I can start on the turret.

Still, progress is progress.

woo! stinkfists return! i always did love this army, good to see it back. on a completely different topic (kinda) do you have any W.I.P. shots of your scout/storm trooper squad?

sure.

Note if you try these conversions... you will need to chop, pin and greenstuff every joint. Be warned.

I used sniper rifles to make the special weapons with either a melta barrel or greenstuff plasma barrel.
