Just finished writing up my list and figured I'd get a critique:

Noble w/ Golden Shield, Sword of Might, Dragon Armor, and Barded Steed
157pts
(Joins Silver Helms)

Noble w/ Armor of Caledor, Guardian Phoenix and Great Weapon
143pts
(General; Joins Spearmen w/o Sentinel)

Mage, Level 2 w/ Dispel Scroll and Seerstaff of Saphery
185pts
(Joins Spearmen w/ Full Command)

Mage, Level 2 w/ Dispel Scroll and Silver Wand
165 pts
(Joins Swordmasters)

20 Spearmen w/ Standard and Musician
195pts
(3 Ranks, Seven Wide)

20 Spearmen w/ Full Command
205pts
(3 Ranks, Seven Wide)

13 Swordmasters w/ Full Command and Banner of Sorcery
275pts
(2 Ranks, Seven Wide)

5 Silver Helms w/ Shields and Standard
131pts

6 Dragon Princes w/ Drakemaster, Standard and Banner of Ellyrion
235pts

2 Great Eagles
100pts

2 Repeater Bolt Throwers
200pts

TOTAL 1991pts

I think its a pretty good list, but let me know what you think. I've never gone without a Prince before, but with the price hike, I'm not sure its worth losing the eagles to get him.

Interesting list, particularly 4 hero level characters. I never take a prince but always take an Archmage. But that's a matter of taste.

I'd suggest dropping a DP for 2 more SM's. That unit can get zapped down to a nub pretty quick - particularly with the extra incentive of the Banner of Sorcery (Never leave Ulthuan without it!)

Also, my group only plays at 2250, so it feels lacking - like 2 chariots.

Otherwise, I'm not sure I'd field 4 characters in a 2000 pt list. If you dropped one of your Nobles, you could put those points into Shadow Warriors for more shooting and a mobile haven for your Mages.

One last thought: I incline towards White Lions being the best value of the specials. Again, it's a matter of taste.

Good luck. Bring your experience back to these boards.

I'm not a fan of Shadow Warriors so much, so if I dropped a Noble, it would be to bump a character up to Lord level. I'm gonna see how this plays out. I think with Shield of Saphery I should be able to keep the SMs alive long enough to see combat. And one extra DP on the charge is worth far more for breaking units than two more ablative wounds on the SM unit.

I've never tried out an archmage either so I may give that a shot. Either that, or I'll just scrap both fighty chars and the eagles for a dragon mage. :D
