A unit of Zombies/Skeletons is flanked charged and after combat resolution, is reduced to its last model.
The TK or VC player summons a few models into the unit and declares that they are now facing the chargers frontally since the last model has no flanks.

Is this acceptable?

I would like to say, yes but would welcome any valid objections.

Thank you in advance.

No, it is not acceptable.

Single models only have no flanks when unengaged. As soon as they are in combat they have flanks and rear as normal.

I second that objection.

I second that: a single model may be charged in the front and in the rear in the same turn and the opponent would get the +2 to combat resolution as normal.

Yes, thank you, everyone is right of course.
It looked strange but I couldn't come up with an answer off the top of my head and agreed with the insistent VC player.

Somewhere out there lurks a VC player who thinks he has got a new tactic under false premises. :D
