As i have recently moved away from my tau gunline, i have decided to pick up marines. i was considering doing a mantis warriors army and was wondering jsut what there is to know about these guys.
i was figuring i would take the infiltrating ability along with the duel melta or plasma in a small tactical squad. i see them as sneaking up to the enemy then lying in wait till someone walks buy and nailing them with a hail of shots.
any thoughts?

The Mantis Warriors sided with the Astral Claws during the Badab Uprising, but after they were deemed save-able and were sent on a century long penitent crusade.

So if you're doing a Mantis Warriors army, I would probably go light on the fancy stuff like terminator armor, land raiders, etc and take some Witch Hunter allies (The Ordo Hereticus keeping tabs).

That's all I know about them, maybe someone else can tell you more. Anything not covered feel free to make up for yourself.

Yeah, this will work. A 'light' army that hits fast in places while supported with devies? Assault marines might also help.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Space_Marine_Chapters#M

It mentions specialist sniper squads and elite 'praying mantidae', among other things such as forearm blades.

Sounds like a really sweet idea, good luck with it :D
