I'm going to a 1k tournament next weekend with my HE and wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions for my list here.

I've run some test games with it, and I'm 3 wins 1 loss so far with it.

Noble
-Great Weapon
-Radiant Gem of Hoeth

Mage
-Silver Wand
-Sacred Incense

20 Spearmen
-Full Command
-Banner of Ellyrion

Lion Chariot of Chrace

The RBTs deploy on hills or in a good support position. Spearmen go in front, with characters joined and one Chariot on each side. Noble uses the Lore of Beasts and casts The Bear's Anger on himself, the Mage takes Lore of Shadow and uses what works best. I got Unseen Lurker in two games and that helped out a great deal.

RBTs help to thin enemy units out, and I try to get the Spears and Chariots charging together. The Chariots and Noble do all the hard hitting, and I end up winning combat almost everytime. The Chariots overrun the enemy unit, and they get ready to repeat it again.

The one thing I was considering was taking the Seerstaff of Saphery on my Mage so I can get the spells I feel I'll need. There's one player in the area who likes taking a 20 man block of Dwarf Ironbreakers, so i was thinking of taking Pit of Shades to help thin them out a bit.

One question: Can I take armor and shield on my Noble even though he counts as a Lvl 1 Wizard? I want to take some Heavy armor and a shield on him to protect himself, but I wasn't sure if that was allowed since he's acting as a Wizard. Does that rule only apply to magic armor?

Any help is appreciated!

It's an alright list, though personally I'd be wanting to take the Ring of Fury on my Mage for the extra damage it can do in the magic phase.

In answer to your question about the armour and casting. In the new edition, 7th the stipulation on casting while wearing armour is gone, the only limitation are on who can buy armour or magical armour. So your noble could wear armour and cast with the radiant gem.

I say that you should put one more spearman into that block and make it three ranks of 7. Thats 22 attacks, as supposed to one static combat rez that you loose if one guy dies. This army also lacks staying power(of course, your high elves). If your chariots get charged by enemy cavalry, your screwed. So id think about dropping a chariot and a bolt thrower for some other infantry, maby some lions or more spears. But thats just me.

I was considering dropping one of the Bolt Throwers to make way for a small unit of Silver Helms. they could help protect the Chariots from other cavalry and also add to combat.

2 lion chariots in 1000pts? that seems extreme to me... I think you should switch a chariot for 10 swordmasters. Or take another unit of spearmen. Give the mage the ring of fury and the silver wand.

I don't have any Swordmasters... but I do have 15 White Lions with a full command.

however, those two Chariots have been doing wonders for me. Today, the two of them charged and ran down a unit of 20 Saurus Warriors with an attached Saurus Scar veteran on the first turn. The two working together can cause insane amounts of damage.

Tweaked my list a bit. Does this look better than the first list or no?

Noble
-Great Weapon
-Radiant Gem of Hoeth (Lore of Beasts)

Mage
-Lvl2 (Lore of Shadow)
-Ring of Fury
-Silver Wand

19 Spearmen
-Vet and Standard
-Banner of Ellyrion

10 White Lions
-Full Command
-Banner of Sorcery

Lion Chariot of Chrace

Repeater Bolt Thrower

Noble and Mage would join the Spears. Spears and Lions would move up together with the Chariot close by. Mage uses his RoF and whatever spells he rolls while the RBT adds to the ranged fire. With at lest 6 Power Dice and the Bound Spell per turn, I should be able to pump out quite a bit of magic.

One thing I can do to the first list is drop a couple of Spearmen to add the Ring of Fury in. I'm still a little partial to the first list, but I thought I'd get some feedback on this one.

Both lists look good. Think 2 lion chariots would definately scare your opponent. I'd go for the first list and use your bolt throwers to take out enemy artillery in the first turn... empire and dwarf cannons could ruin your day badly.

All 'good' generals play High Elves. All 'mentally able' generals play Dark Elves. :P

Seriously though, hush your mouth Little Aaad, this 1000 point list screws the **** out of your 1500 point Dark Elf force...

Nice lists.
