View Full Version : Dwarf Runes against Fear/Terror

I've looked thru the forums and did not find any place where this has come up:

If you have a Rune of Determination (take a break test on 1d6 rather than 2d6) and you loose combat to a fear/terror causing unit that outnumbers you, what would you be testing against? One or Two?

Since you can only stay in combat against overwhelming fear causing units with insane courage, how would this impact a break test on a single die?

You cannot score insane courage on a single dice, so it's a bad idea to use the Rune when you're outnumbered by fear-causers.

It would be a good idea to use the Ancestor Rune (on 4+ you count as stubborn) in this situation?

No, as Stubborn has no effect when you are outnumbered by fear-causers.

The only thing that will help is being immune to fear, either through immunity to psychology or causing fear/terror yourself.

Yup, you want the rune of Courage for such a situation. Thanks to being able to take variants, you can theoretically have most of your army immune to fear and terror.

Depends how many units you field. There are 5 possible combinations available to Regiments, plus a further one available to the BSB for 6 theoretical combinations.

Rune of Stocisim can help with autobreaking against fear causers. Gives you a better chance of not being outnumbered.
