heh, it's like a chibi titan. it could use some improvement in the proportions. painting isn't bad though

I dont like the titan. I wont bash it though because I dont like it, just not my taste.

I like how its a Warlord reminiscent of the old Epic, but those are some seriously bung legs. For bad proportions, I mark it with a FAIL

Eh it looks very um stretched out height wise. Other thing I can't stand is the 1" tentacle arms holding up 6" wide, 12" long weapons. That carapace needs to drop half a foot and needs to work out its guns a bit:p.

Overall though I do like it. I have no probs with old style warlord. I do really the the body machining throughout the model though.

Well its better than this thing, I'll give it that

I like it. Its not "the best thing ever" but it's still pretty damn good imho. I especially like the crushed orks under its feet.

Whoa, I've seen that titan before but do you have any shots of the beast it's 'fighting'?

A warlord should be somewhere in the Neighborhood of 2'10-3'. A 5'8" Warlord, well, he gets away with it easily enough: "It's inquisitor scale" :)

It's a copy, with skulls and spikes. Guess who he fights for!?

Yeah I think we guessed the Imperator at around 6'....although I don't remember scaling it...could be off.

If they're smart they can be disassembled and put in a nice padded box.

If not, back seat with a seatbelt seems like the most likely way to get it where you're going safely.

Am I the only one picturing parenting class with titans instead of flour sacks?:D

ITT: haters.

Nice show boys, I would play with that Titan EVERYDAY.

(if you didnt know, ITT means "In This Thread". Knowing is half the battle, the other half is violence.)

The first Titan is classic Adeptus Titanicus....almost too much with the snap-fit-esque looking weapons. Even the paint scheme is pulled out of the old material. Thumbs up IMO.

The second one is a spot-on copy of what happened to Epic Warlord Titans after they got "remodeled" (ewww).

Can't critique the last one because the poor guy who put it together probably lost half his noggin inhaling glue fumes.

anyone who puts in the time and effort to make something like that deserves some kudos whether you like the style or not.
he also mentions on the page that he built it around 10 years ago and just broke it out for apocalypse so would explain the old school look to it.

:skull: I like it. I'm not really a fan of the style, but he certainly pulled it off I think. Furthermore the orks scaling the leg is just Too Cool! So for that alone I mark it high. :skull:

The legs though!!! Gah, disproportion is such a crime, and ruins it for me.

here's a pic of the other titan people were asking for:

That DA landraider in the background is out of control too

Crikey, Inquisitor scale vehicle maybe?....

Not really my style TBH, I prefer the gothic/bulkier look rather than a rounded look, but it is still a really good attempt at a Titan

I think they're all awesome... but I'm just generally in awe over large mech stuff like that.

For someone who's come back to GW after a 15 year gap, I first looked at the new titans in horror. What had they done to my rose tinted titans?!!?12!

But... at 40K size level (and with a more serious looking mini range these days - which is good), I'll admit the style doesnt quite work properly. That said, I think the gothic titans are ugly and tbh could do with a new face lift - though this wont happen without a new epic box set and kiss and make ups with SG games.

did you all know it belongs to a fellow warseer member?

Not so sure I'd like something that big in my games persnally. My limit is often the Warhound Titan. Any bigger and it makes the game slow and bulky

That green Titan and it's Chaos counterpart are absolutely outstanding. Typically I set the bar pretty low for homegrown titans but those two look almost as if they came straight from forgeworld.

The key is in the small detail. The small detail is what gives them their scale.

Ddraiglais
30-11-2007, 12:59
Once again it seems that nobody has a clue as to how tall titans should be. A warlord shouldn't be much over 2'. An imperator shouldn't get bigger than 3.5'. I don't have a problem with the looks of those titans. They're scratch builds. I'm sure the owners did their best and are very proud of them. I would love to fight against warlords that looked like those if they were scaled properly. I've seen plenty of scratchbuilds that were much worse than those.

People sure like their Titans to be big :). Size aside, The first one is severely disproportioned compared to the original epic Titan but that's not really that important compared to the effort of building it from scratch.

If we use the Apocalypse size comparison pic of the warlord a Lucius Pattern Warlord should be 60cm tall (2.4 feet), the old Mars Pattern Warlords like we see in the first post shall be smaller (I'm guessing 1.8 feet) according to their epic miniature.

By the way here is a piece I particularly love for epic, as someone (Warmaster Nice from Tactical Command) tried to conceive an Imperator based on the Lucius Pattern Design :

http://www.mustangsalling.dk/imperium/images/imperator.jpg

EDIT -
In 40k scale I suppose it should be close to the size of the previous Lucius Pattern Warlord model shown, in the picture where it is opposed to its Chaos counterpart.

That is a cool looking imperator!!! I knew they had modernized warhounds, reavers, and warlords. I never thought someone would do that to an imperator. I like it. The only one that I like the earlier look better than the newer mks is the reaver.

A warlord is suppose to be 40 meters. That's roughly 131 feet. 1" is around 5.5' in 28mm scale. That's 23". If you wanted to go with 1"=5", then you get 26.". I have seen warlords reported as 45m. That would make your numbers 26.8" at 1"=5.5' and 29.52" at 1"=5'.

A 60m imperator would be 35.6" at 1"=5.5' and 39.2" at 1"=5'.

I like the orks rapelling down the leg in that closeup. very funny.

not really my style, I like the green one posted in this thread a lot better... still though, its porbably better than I could do myself, so I wont criticize.

A guy I work with built this as soon as he saw that APOC was coming. 39 inches at the top of the missile.

Actually, the correct term, if you had spent any time at all watching the LOTR special features DVD, is "bigature".
