I was just coming to post this.

Always strikes me as ironic how someone so daring is finally laid low by simple old age, and not killed in one of their daring stunts.

I was just going to come and post this. Always too slow. I should point out though that he very deliberately spelt it Evel not wanting to get an image of being too, well, evil I suppose. The radio just said he spend over two years in hospital recovering from his injuries. That is hardcore.

Evel Knievel is one of the great Manly Men of our time. He will be missed.

Also, he died of liver failure, which isn't necessarily associated with old age.

The guy had more lives than a lucky cat. When I was a kid I had all of his toys from the wind up motorcycle to the rubberband powered rocket that nearly took my brothers eye out. Even if he hasn't been in the news for a while I'm going to miss the hardcore MAN he was.

my condolences to his family, i wish them well in this hard time.

i also expected him to go into a blaze of glory, not old age... but, i guess the cold grasp of death with get us all in the end.

The BBC has Richard Hammond meets Evil Kenivil on over Christmas I hope they still show it.

RIP Evil I wish I hadn't set light to my wind & go Evil when I was a kid :(

I think they will, they'll just edit it to include his passing.

Then again, I suppose its all depends upon the wishes of his family.

Evel was very hard core. He is credited with saving the toy industry of the 70's. Sadly many people at the local GW store had no idea who he was.
