View Full Version : Death Guard 7th Company - The Chosen of Typhus

Hello there, and welcome dear reader!

Well, I'm in the middle of an-allnighter painting session, trying to get a centerpiece model of my army completed before a local indy tournament tomorrow, so I thought I'd do what all the cool kids do and post a painting log.

Of course, I don't usually actually do much painting, but hopefully this will inspire to sort that out.
I've currently got about half of my current running list painted I suppose. And there's still a few models left to purchase to update it to the current book.
In essence, the entire thing is completely WIP. I keep going back to models that are pretty much done to change things that I find I don't like anymore.

The current painting philosophy is somewhere between tabletop-quality and display-quality. Probably about halfway. I do take a long time to paint, and this is partly why. I don't really have a production line, or a mass painting scheme or any sort of organisation, its all very chaotic.
Very fitting then, no? :P

Anyways, I'm guessing you'll be wanting some pictures. So here is one to start you off. I'll take photo's of the other completed models later, but currently I have only 7 hours to complete this model, so I'm just going to crack on with it :)
Anyways, this is my Nurgle Daemon Prince, named Skurgge (pronounced "Scourge"). Currently armed with Warptime. This also counts as him being borne on a pair of wings, but I dont have a suitable conversion for those yet, so I'm just going to say Warptime allows him to move at an increased rate.

I realise I'm atrocius at taking photo's, but I'll take more effort in the future. This one is just quick to provide some interest for you people to read the thread :D
Will post more very very soon. Keep your eye's peeled.

Right, figured out how to take photo's using my cameraphone properly. No more blurriness.
Wish I had a lightbox to properly show you this guy, but I'm not made of money, so there :P

He's 95% done. His left arm needs completing, as you can see in the 2nd pic, and parts of his feet need redoing, and then he will be complete apart from basing. Which I will do in due time.

All C&C's welcome of course, i'm no pansy. Give me your best shot.

I actually had the same problem taking photos, what you can do is if you have like a vehicle box or a battleforce box, use one half of it as a cheap, effective photobox.

Digging the idea though, looks great.

Hey guys, thanks for starting me off :)
This shall be my drive to keep painting, updates for you guys :P
I dont have much dedication apart from that. Eh.

In response to Tobworth, I shall post a list of what is and isn't done. And what stage I'm at.

HQ: Daemon Prince - 95% complete, needs basing.
Sorceror/Lord - About 85% complete. I dont really like the way I've painted this guy *shrug*

Elites: Terminators - Assembled, need converting. I have 7 of these, 5 will have combi-melta's, 2 have reaper autocannons.

Troops: Plague Marines - 6 out of 14 completed. Rest are undercoated. All need basing

Fast Attack: Raptors - Need purchasing and converting Will probably end up as running legged chaos marines, with the REALLY old metal turbine jumppacks. I dig those.
This kind: http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/store.uk?do=Individual&code=9947010132232&orignav=301117

Heavy Support: Obliterators - 1 purchased out of 4. Currently undercoated.
This guy is my next target for painting.

Yay! More Chaos!
I have the same painting style, I take forever to paint. No production lines, one model at a time.

Well done. Keep it up.
