So here I am in my office looking for a pencil to do some homework with ( pen won't do...I make a lot of mistakes ). I moved into this office a few weeks back and I guess the previous occupant left stuff here. I go rambling through the 3 other desks in the office looking for a damn pencil. I rummage through reams of engineering paper, paper-clips staples etc. Only to find a bullet.

Huh.

I look at the back of the bullet casing and notice it hasn't been fired, it appears to be a hollow point. Well.....Isn't that interesting.

Makes me wonder why the previous occupant left.

I'd only be really worried if someone had etched "x-esiv-4c" on it......

While I was in college, I worked on the summer work crew. You wouldnt BELIEVE the stuff we found in the drawers and such. Everything from porn, to drugs to, to photo albums, card collections ect ect and, of course, clothes. Much fun hiding bras and panties in the tool belts of the maintanance guys.

I just moved into an apartment for college and in the mattress I found a strange hole i peek in side and there was a large collection of porn, which is quite curious because I go to a religous school. needless to say I burned the whole mattess and the evil contained inside (I really just threw it away)

you wonder what all the maids for hotels find, probably have some funny stuff

I once found a rusty bullet on my high school grounds. Thing is, my high school wasn't one where students felt the need to carry handguns around. Come to think of it, it was a rifle round, 7mm I'd say.

You want to see something interesting? Bring a UV light with you next time you stay in a hotel. Shine it on the sheets, the mattress, the walls, the television...

Done that...Never again.

Incidently, it's an armour-piercing round.

That is rather strange, but certainly not as unnerving as finding a gun with it.

I didnt think hollow points were armor-piercing. Though, where there is a bullet, there is a gun...

Dare I ask why this is so horrifying everyone? I know what UV lights do(I think) but what is so horrifying?

@DragonReborn: Glad I could help. :D

@Freak: You don't watch CSI much, do you? ;) Let's just say that certain biological compounds will reflect UV light.

I was wrong about hollow point, it certainly is an AP round.

I did the UV thing the day I moved into my new apartment.

Thing that freaked me out was the hand prints that would ominously glow under the UV, in some really strange places like under the sink etc etc.

Hehe.
Somethings were never meant to be seen with a black-light.

It's now time for a little trip in the wayback machine :D When "black lights" first started showing up as a new visual effect on/near dancefloors, the way the light shined on (and through) women's clothing could be very interesting

Maybe they still do. Hehehehe...........I think I'll get together a small group of old fart friends (men only). We can go find out. Now I'll have to put cotton or plastic plugs in MY ears. Most of my friends will just turndown their hearing aides ;)

Incidently, it's an armour-piercing round.

You think you've got problems. Some poor sap in an over-run dugout somewhere is scrabbling desperately for an armour piercing round. He's just found a pencil.

im gonna have to buy a UV light now you realise!

My brother found a couple of boxes of ammunition under our neighbours house a few years back, we never were the best of friends with our neighbours, so we reported it to the police (and dont anyone ask what my brother was doing there looking around)
