Feel free to comment on strengths or weaknesses, what armies it would be good against and which ones not so good, etc.

The BIG question is if it's worth trading an RBT and DS for ugrade to Star Dragon and Banner of Sorcery?

The other questions are does the Prince's Medallion of Light also work for the Dragon he is riding? and can the special unit champions carry disp scrolls?

Thanks in advance

Hmm, well if I was you i'd take the star dragon, its the whole point of the whole list really.

Ok the good and bad, its a good list against any army that has low shooting and low magic. And thats about it, the dragons can be taken out by most warmachines, and your scroll caddy can't stand up to a strong breeze, I dont really see why you've fielded all the infrantry if I'm honest, chariots, archers and bolters are the way to go.

The Army would then be:
Characters as you posted = 992pts
2 x 10 archers=220pts
6 Tiranic Chariots=510pts
2 Repeaters=200pts
Comes to 1922pts, leaving you the points to upgrade to a star dragon.
The armies fairly hitty, moves fast, and the chariots can zip in and take out a mage before (hopefully) outrunning any pursuit moves, the nice thing with the army above is nothing but the dragons and characters really give up that many pts. I mean even if you lose the whole army thats only 1000pts.

Just my opinions,

Looks simillar to a 2250 points army I made yesturday for a laugh when I play my best mate. Looks something like this -

Lord - Armour of Caledor, Vembraces of Defence, Great weapon, Star Dragon - 612

Hero - Dragon mage, level 2, skeinsliver, guardian Phoenix - 425

Core - 15 spearmen - 135

Core - 12 Spearmen, Sentinal - 118

Rare - Forge World Emperor Dragon - 960

Of course, getting the first turn with this list is vital, and also not too difficult :P

lol thats a quiet extreme list it would turn barbecue vs dwarfs with all those cannons

Yeah, that's why it has to get the first turn - so that there's only one round of shooting before it's in combat! Otherwise it just dies on it's feet. Sort of a one hit wonder list really :P

I see your point Tanka, that Dragonmage's survivability was my greatest concern. Thanks for the sound advice.

From what I gather Dragons seem to be easier to kill than I thought,
so I think I'll make strong infantry army to capitalise on first strike and with good shooting to make 'em come to me and some scrolls. How many scrolls do you recommend, wait, can non mages use them?

u shouldn't get a great weapon for the prince as it only confers a 1+ str bonus when mounted. You should get a lance instead

Looks illegal for 2250pts.

1 lord, 3 heroes

2 core (minimum number for a 2000 or more army)

2 rare (emperor dragon takes up three in any army other than high elves - and even if it was 3, high elves can take 4 in 2000pts anyway)

i would drop an RBT for some eagles, just for the hell of having 4 flying units, coming to kill things

Would you say that the eagles are necessary so that you have the ability to march block and redirect, or is that simply preference of how you conduct the battle?

both. march blocking lets you line up charges for the dragons, and then for picking off lone mages and artillery, which stops the dragons being targeted. or, stick the null stone or forliath's robes on one of them, and fly the one with null stone into a mage, and then fly into grouped units with the other, as they cant hit the mage.

One of these

Gorgeous model, pain to put together. Worth half an army on it's own.
