First of all, what is the WOBBL?
The Warseer Open Blood Bowl League is an online Blood Bowl league which uses a free game system found at http://fumbbl.com/
What do you need to start playing?
You will need: Java, the Blood Bowl Client, and as is recommended an IRC program. Think it's to complicated? Check this out
for step by step instructions. http://fumbbl.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=phpWiki&file=index
Will I like online Blood Bowl?
Playing online has several advantages. For one theres always people around to play. During the busy times, theres upwards to 200+ people online looking for a game. When will you ever see that at your local game store on a Monday night?
Also due to the nature of it being a computer game and taking the human factor out, the games end up being much faster then tabletop Blood Bowl. How many times have you asked your opponent what skill that guy has? "what.. I didn't know he had guard!", well using the client, simply moving the mouse over the player will show you his stats and any skills he may have. On average an online Blood Bowl games takes just 45 minutes!!
---
In closing, we (WOBBL members) would like to see the Blood Bowl tabletop players on Warseer come and give us a look. It costs nothing but maybe an hour of your time, and I guarantee you will like it. If you have any questions please feel free to drop me a line, or post in this topic and I will help you out.
