Oh I forgot to mention they're working on a third one supposed to be the champion. Does that mean we'll see units of these (if people can afford it). :(

I just thought about it: The gnobbo head-honcho.
As I might start that stupid army and don't want to make 300 gnobbos with my brother, I think I'll buy 2 and convert a gnoblar to go on top of it.

Are there any rumors for a rhinox mount for Ogre characters?
And for rules for ogre cavalry as special or rare unit?

Rabid Bunny 666

dunno, forgeworld normally put a link to trial rules, but not in this case

Lmao that comparison of the Bret to the rhinox look hilarious. However, I bet that unless the rhinox gets some nice special abilities, the bret will still own in HtH.

Rabid Bunny 666

doubt it, the ogre has 3 wounds, the rinox has 4 odd, with the ogres 4 strength 4 attacks and the rhinoxes 4 odd strength 6 noes compare to the paltry 4 for the champion and his horse, tis a case of overkill in the extreme

+2 Armour save and 6+ ward at least....not too sure...

Yeah but they must cost at least 160 points (for 7 wounds altogether they better not cost under that) so just think of the number of brets you can get for one of those units.

Rabid Bunny 666

how many knights of the realm could you get for 320 pts?

Phil Kelly is working on a set of experimental rules for the models which hopefully will be up on their website very soon. I have no idea how they're going to look like though, we'll just have to wait and see.

Bah, how would a cannon work against the unit? Would some have to run on foot if you shot the Rhinox out from under him, or would the guy simply eat his Rhinox and be removed from the game. Same thing if you shot the Ogre off his steed,

They will probably do them as a combined profile, just like the bloodcrushers and such from the SOC lists.

Damn, those things are huge!

Anyway, no rules yet. Forgeworld might produce some rules, but don't count on anything official.

I have heard of this rumour for ages now (friends in high places....).
Yes they do have combined stat line from what I've heard; T 5 S 5 W 5/6 and impact hits in a major way from what I've heard.
Nothing definite though

Not quite. They are subsiduary company wholly owned by GW. They specialise in highly detailed and/or big models which are from the GW universes.

Most of the models will have some form of rules to enable them to be used in games but some are just display pieces.

They seem to do a LOT of tanks

It's nice to see them doing some fantasy stuff for a change.

As far as this Ogre cavalry go I really like them, very cool. I wonder if when they publish rules they will be able to be taken as a DoW choice in other armies. That would be nice :)

Wheter they will be official or not, Forge World usually playtests their rules a lot and update the rules on their website between one and two times.

That's true, but often the seer magnitude of the forge world models (and their rules, effectively) prevents them for using in any form of tournament or balanced games. They are great for scenarios and big friendly games, tough.

They can't be that scary, there are cannon and bolt throwers you know and a flank shot would destroy them instanty.

If they get a combined profile...let's guess...

[quick speculation]
M-6 WS-4 BS-0 S-5 T-5 W-4 I-3 A-4 Ld-7

Cause Fear, Bad Tempered, D6 Impact hits, Unit Strength 5, 4+ armour save, Unit Size 1-3, 100 points.
[/quick speculation]

The Rhinox is a mature Rhinox, not an adolescent one, so it would be a bit stronger than that methinks. I also think it won't be a combined profile. Probably akin to a unit of ridden monsters. Probably Str 6 and cause Terror.

It will have to be a combined profile, as they will be units, and otherwise you would have all sorts of problems if some lost their mounts. I'm expecting something like a tougher ogre version of the big deamon mounts from the SOC list.
