cause of them using daemons as shock troops and having a big relation with them, would it be possible for them to be 'possessed' by a daemon to make them stronger etc but not the actual possessed models?
(like getting someone to make them stronger in combat or making them thougher to taking blows from guns CC etc)

or is this one of them :eyebrows::wtf::rolleyes: kinda of moments?

thanks

when a daemon possess someone it's only a matter of time before the person in question starts to mutate. It depends on the abilities of the person.
In game terms you had the carriers for the greater deamons that used some of the deamon stats while in a "human form".
Hope this helps.

Well al the fluff I've read on WB says they view themselves as higher than the deamons of chaos. Which is why they 'use them as shock troops'. They're expendable forces where they themselves aren't considered to be.

For a WB to end up possessed, or even mutated, would be more like 'bad mojo' for the unlucky WB, and he'd likely get striped of any rank and thrown in with other deamons and mutants as fodder.

you are rather wrong there

When a daemon can be controlled they can be a great aide to a word bearer champion.

In the Word Bearer BL book 'Dark Apostle' there is a WB character who has a daemon inside of him that he can control, when he wills it the daemon mutates him to aide him in battle, after the carnage the daemon retreats and the word bearer looks normal again.

this goes perfectly with the word bearers using daemons for their own benefit.

Ahh.. didn't know they'd be able to control them to such a degree. In that case, provided the WB has a strong enough will to do that, it would be quite an asset to them.

though if the WB isn't strong enough, and the deamon takes over.. I'd believe what I stated would happen to the poor guy.

If you read carefully, you'll see that he, sometimes have difficulty in keeping the daemon in check. in the antecipation of a battle he was already struggling with the daemon

C:CSM mentions that WB use Possessed Troops to great extent.

Bah! Listen not to the foul lackeys of the Imperium and their feeble-minded ignorance. No true Child of Lorgar would allow himself possession by a creature of the Empyrean - to one's soul and mind to be shattered and twisted by a low parasite of the Aether is as great a heresy as bowing to the Rotting Corpse. Those who follow the Word must be as powerful in the mind as they are in the body. This He Commands.
