Hello,

I was just curious as to wether any of you play other 40k universe games (BFG, Inquisitor, Necromunda, Gorkamorka, Epic, etc.). I personnaly think that some of the Specialist games are actually much better than 40k in some aspects, and while I will always love 40k, I picked up BFG again lately, and I'm looking into Inquisitor and Necromunda.

So does anyone share the love?

I'm in an inquisitor campaign at the moment and I also occasionally run a Blood Bowl league (less likely now I'm in another state) But VanDoo you forgot Blood Bowl. That was the first ligit GW game I got (I don't beleive Space Crusade really counts). I talk to a few guys at Vets Night who play so I might look into it again soon. I've also got Gorka Morka but can't really get many people to play with me. (Just as well I've got Speed Freeks for 40k or they'd be wasted miniatures)

I must admit Inquisitor is a bit of fun something different to 40k, but its not as good as a normal RPG but it'll do for the time being.

EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's supplanted normal 40k in my obsessions at the moment. There just comes a point when you realise that a platoon of Gaurdsmen is not enough... you need to field a whole COMPANY, with Heavy Tank platoons and Titan supports! :p

If you don't play this game, my advice is to get it NOW NOW NOW, it's brilliant. IMHO! :D

I played Inquisitor when I lived in the States. Other than that, just the two main games. They're enough of a drain on my time and energy :D

Just 40K right now. Used to play Space Marine (Epic) and Space Hulk (1st ed). Never liked BFG. Not tried Inquisitor.

Well, I was going to take up BFG, but you know... My Tau fleet got glued together and put into a nice box and never heard from again.

Oh, and I did play the LoTR game when it first came out. My Rohirrim kicked ass. And then, one day, I needed 40mm bases for some CSM Nurgle conversions... I still have the models around somewhere though.

I'm having great fun playing BFG at the moment. Scratch that. Awesome fun. Seriously, I'm having an absolute blast with it. Haven't won a game yet. Terrific stuff.

I'm hoping to pick up either Epic or Bloodbowl later in the year.

Now *points to sig* if anyone has any old Imperial ships for BFG they are no longer using...

I've played all of them, but I no longer play them on a regular basis.

BFG, baby! Man, I wish there were more games like it. Don't know how many times in a game of 40k, I've caught myself thinking "Oh no! BRACE FOR IMPACT!" :chrome:

BFG and Necro every once in a while, plus I've begun assembling an Epic Ork force.

Then there's the 40k Racing Game...

But VanDoo you forgot Blood Bowl.

I said 40k universe games. So BB is out. Altough, I think there would be potential for a 40k version of BB. I had so much fun playing Mutant League Hockey as a lad. That would ROCK!

Then there's the 40k Racing Game...

Colour me intrigued. What is this game?

I'm sure in time...and when time is available...boogle will teach me to play something other than 40K.

But I'm still learning to play 40K as it is....so I'm putting off other things until I've got a good grasp of the armies that I collect.

That is the best way to learn. That way, you don't get confused between rulesets.

That is very much correct VanDoo.

And since I get weasily confused...it's very much the best course of action for me.

This reminds me of a train of thought I was having earlier during the day. I don`t understand why the rules for GW's games need to be so different. After all, a human in WHFB is still a human in 40k. Granted, some exceptions are bound to pop up (for example, you need rules to fight in ranks in Fantasy, but that would be pointless in 40k), but overall, unless I'm mistaken, the laws of physics are the same in 40k, Fantasy, Necromunda, etc.

Mordheim!!

It isn't 40k related, but it still rocks!

VanDoo
21-09-2005, 22:16
People, people, PEOPLE! I said 40K UNIVERSE games, not Specialist Games! So Mordheim, Blood Bowl, Talisman, Heroquest, Man O' War, etc. are not eligible answers!

Excellent! That reminds me: any of you ever play the jetbike chase minigame that was in one of the old WD? That was so cool, I don't know why they didn't rework the article for the new rules.

I have always wanted to play Battle Fleet Gothic, but I never have.

Why not? No opponents?

EDIT: Whoohoo! I'm a Chaplain! :)
