View Full Version : my renegade project

02-01-2008, 17:27
hi all
Having made an overdose of painting with the camouflage of my elysian, I wanted to change the ideas by changing style before to put back me to it (I am obliged to paint them I have one tournaments in February ^^).
I thus dashed into a less complex army on the plan of color but which however is very pleasant to work.
While staying in the optics of the imperial guard indeed on.

Here is my damned list

1compagny command platoon

1renegade militia platoon

2 renegade militia squads with enforcer

1renegade armoured fist squad

2tarentula with heavy bolter

1leman russ

1sentinelle with multi laser

5renegade ogryn berserkers

nearly 1500points

I have already well begun the painting of my leman russ And I also began my leman russ demolisher (for 2000points)

Yeah, another Renegade project log!
Just a few questions:

What models are you using for the infantry and Ogryn Berzerkers?
Color scheme?

Whatever happens, I'm subscribing to this thread.

02-01-2008, 17:49
I am going to use the forgeworld army and to work again legs of the cadian.
My plan of color is going to be based on nuances of dark brown, to stick as quite my army has an urban environment.
The work of sculpture will especially be based on the infantry, tanks will remain basic and the painting and some notches will give the chaotic aspect.

I admit to dash towards the stranger I was always a believer of the emperor, but this army is so beautiful.
I think that I shall dare more audacious things when I would have taken the help over the beginning of the army.
For photos I shall put them with my vulture on the blog of my elysian tomorrow, because the luminosity to month is invalid useless.

Sounds good, can't wait for the progress pictures.

02-01-2008, 18:15
For the moment I possess only 2 tarantulas and 2 leman russ, the rest of the command(order), is still forgeworld a leader.
I look forward to it because it contains 2 tunderbolt and my army of renegades.

03-01-2008, 14:58
here as promised the base of my leman russ

That's a nice colour scheme you've got going there. Nice battle damage too. Are you going to add any Chaos iconography to the LR? painted battle-damage effects on what you've already modelled? As I've mentioned already, good start.

03-01-2008, 16:15
yes it's the first painting aplication
i'will put a chaos inconography and i wil working on the battle damage

07-01-2008, 17:24
i just received the begining of my renegade, and when i see the renegade army of mika i think i'll make more conversions and i'll make a good painting^^

Nice the scheme is a nice change from the usual black-red although I do like the black-red colors too. Hope for pics of troopers:D

07-01-2008, 18:55
i used a similary scheme as Vraksian renegade troopers and tank

13-01-2008, 20:39
juste the begining of my troops

13-01-2008, 21:08
I really like the gray\brown colour scheme. Maybe bring the brown up to a beige to tie in with the gray. Any plans for the bases?

14-01-2008, 10:27
i will make so working in painting, on this photo its just the base with a (red an brown ink).
this first guard allow me to see wath scheme i will use for the army, for me i'm safisfied by the result and i will continue with this scheme.
however, i will probably change a few the scheme of other guard, to show , they are no cohesion in a renegade army^^

24-01-2008, 10:55
just a little avancement (the picture is not good)

24-03-2008, 19:37
My project advances correctly, in spite of errors on behalf of world forge.
An ogryn is soon finished, and quite a lot of figurines are cleaned.
I think of dashing even there on apocalypse because it is true that having played has some parties, I am enough a fan of this system of game.
In forecast a baneblade renegade, and a company of leman russ.
Of more my future integration in the staff games workshop be not going to improve my quantities of purchases ^^.
I shall post photos of the ogryn when he will make more beautiful time^^.

28-03-2008, 14:43
One word. SWEET!
Love the base color for your tank, now for the heretic symbols

03-04-2008, 07:45
That is a really good base color on the Leman Russ!

What colors did you use?

03-04-2008, 09:00
Looks alright, scheme is nice, but for god sake, please just put them on the table and photograph them.

07-04-2008, 17:14
for the leamn russ i used charadon and calthan brown with skull wite for lightness.
for the rust i used bestial brown with water.

Nice Berzerker Ogryn so far!

My two suggestions are to take the photos a bit further away from the model, and a tad of watered-down red / purple [paint around the Chaos insignia.

Colonel Haizelhoff
07-04-2008, 18:08
Cool I like him but the purple around the chaos insignia is a good idea. Who couldnt love those sweet beadie eyes and the bloody and savage overall appearance;)

08-04-2008, 16:16
Loving your work!
I agree with the two above posts about the red/purple,
but overaal the battered skin tones look real good ;)

Mr Feral
08-04-2008, 16:22
I've just noticed how incredibly disturbing that blister is in the second picture of the Orgyn. Icky!

08-04-2008, 18:29
The effect on the skin is simply of has a new way of painting.
I centred a lot on the foundation paintings .
I left a base of dawrf flesh mixed with the liche purple, then I applied washings of tallarn flesh to give this corrupt aspect.
I never used the tallarn flesh because it was not rather realistic on the depiction of the skin, the renegades allowed me to use this color, which was foreign to me.

20-07-2008, 18:02
finally found little time to paint and having made my renegades' list for 1500 points definitive, I'm motivated to advance it and even has to launch to me in the fast conversion.
For the moment I have just finished a psycher, my exalted champion, and advanced well one of my priests and one of my other champions.

Here is a small outline of my list has 1500 points until I get back my figurines to the store tomorrow.

Exalted champion: power sword, carapace armour, refractor field, bolt.
1veteran, 1chaos icone, 1master vox, krak grenades, 1melta gun

militia command squad:
champion(carapace armour, plasma pistol), vox caster, 2 plasma gun, 1veteran, krak grenades.

Renegade militia squad:
Lasgun, autocannon, grenade launcher, krak grenades, vox caster

Renegade militia squad:

renegade armoured squad
laspistol and close combat weapon, flamer, krak grenades, vox caster
chimera with twin linked heavy bolter

5 ogryn berserkers

3missile launcher

1leman russ

Liking the skin on that Ogryn, that saint model is a good idea nicely executed.

13-08-2008, 19:08
it's very rapidly excecuted^^ conversion and painting in one day^^.

13-08-2008, 19:20
Love the saint conversion....just one question: wouldn't it be an idea to paint the helmet on the base with the same colour as her armour? So that it would be perhaps as if she taken off her helmet to cry some tears of blood :D

The tears are great btw...gives a very dark and creepy feeling to it....reminds of sorrow from snake eater :p

13-08-2008, 19:30
That saint model is ace, but were did them wings come from? keep up the nice work

13-08-2008, 20:26
In fact I did not want that she have this sister's aspect of battle ^^.
I explain, for me it is only about an excited champion, (which looks like a fallen angel), I did not paint the helmet of the same color so that she loses highly-rated sound sister of battle. For the armor it of the same color as armor of my army for a coherence, because I did not make regular uniforms on my troops, my army is heterogeneous but possesses a unity.

For wings I used those of a vulture of king tombs.

07-09-2008, 21:47
The Saint model is beautiful. They're all well painted but that is an awesome conversion.

08-09-2008, 01:47
Yes, well done on the saint model. Really evocative.

08-09-2008, 02:18
i love the "Fallen Angel" like concept that you did with the SOB it looks amazing, cant wait to see more!!

03-10-2008, 08:17
I advanced a lot in painting the problem is that my camera does not work any more.
But I found some photos:)
my first psyker, i love this model because i find its expression very Restless and realistic
http://i40.servimg.com/u/f40/11/10/06/06/dsc07410.jpg (http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=86&u=11100606)

and My radio is worked overtime, the head of a leader of tank of baneblade, the body a little modified of cadian. The advantage is that I have 3 banebalde and 3 radios has to make ^^.

By hoping to be faster for the continuation

03-10-2008, 08:45
I must say I really love the freehand on the tanks. Not to mention the skin on the guardsmen/ogryn look fantastic.

Mr Feral
03-10-2008, 08:49
That Rogue Psyker is a rather spendid model isn't it? *envy for not having one yet* :p

Have you considered some blood coming out of his eye sockets since his head looks like it's about to explode? (like your Exalted Champion, which is damn cool BTW :))

03-10-2008, 09:27

^^ For the freehand on the tank I tested some thing which it is turned out very effective for the fast painting. It is not about paint but about pen ball what is much faster has to make and more precise than with a brush, I have then since it dries and pulverized a matt varnish to remove highly-rated gleaming, it is really necessary to take itself there with accuracy during the pulverizing of the varnish because Because the ink of the pen tends has to flow, it is what what arrived at me on the chimera but on the leman russ no problem.

I try to put least possible blood to give an ethereal aspect to my guards, especially this psyker which already has the head of an alive dead man ^^

03-10-2008, 16:49
Just 2 small photos of my command baneblade , it has no report with my list normal ^^ but with my future list for apocalypse

Interesting, a Red Scorpion I assume? Good shade of yellow.

The Baneblade is shaping up nicely, and the tank commander is pretty sweet too.

04-10-2008, 13:56
Fantastic Rouge Phyker and I'm liking the Red Scorpion teaser.
Is that a conversion?

What I'm working on http://warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139909&page=2

04-10-2008, 18:14
yes it's a red scorpion veteran, it's not a conversion it's the veteran who was in blister per 2.
for this times i don't make an army of red scorpion, i have many space marine veteran (many limited edition) and i paint there in red scorpion because i love forge world, but i think i will finish my renegade army (3500 points with no nurgle and khorn marines) and i will continue to paint my 4000 points of elysian drop troopers (http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77206)

after i don't know what i do, i have a small quantity of DKOK but i want to paint there with many times for a good result, because i paint my renegade rapidly for playing with there.
