How well do you think Space Hulk would work using the old board sections, blips, movement, and flamer rules, but with WH40k shooting, combat, and points?
Was thinking about giving the Marine players a set amount of points to spend on their Terminator squad, to allow for the use of much more varied equipment. For a campaign you could even use the points cost of enemies killed as type of experience.
ie. The Sargent killed 8 Genestealers, so he gets 128xp or whatever.

Here's some rules GW cooked up, they aren't perfect and a lot can be added to them but you could have fun with them.

Not a bad concept.

If you come up with some full rules, feel free to post them up here.

You could use the Rules in IA Vol.4 The Anphelion Project for fighting inside the Anphelion base. I've played a few mini games on space hulk style boards using those rules.
