I know there are some Ron Gilbert fans here on Warseer so I just thought I mention a small little thing that he announced today.

He is making a new game!!?!? (http://grumpygamer.com/8519854)

It's going to be an episodic RPG-Adventure game, what ever that is, in a kind of Monkey Island meets Diablo way. Just read the blog :p

I have to say I have never in my life been this exited about a game, even though I don't know a whole lot of it, I do know I want it...

it's coming out soonish (http://deathspank.com/)

:D

I can't believe that no one is interested, you guys do know who Ron Gilbert (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Gilbert) is right? Monkey Island anyone?

I'm quite sure there are at least a couple of old school point-and-click adventure fans here. I for one am psyched about this game.

:D

Sorry Snoozer, I don't always check this forum because it's usually talking about first-person shooters and other such guff.

New Ron Gilbert game – amazing! I'm slightly jealous that he's doing essentially what I wanted to do all those years ago when I studied at uni, but if there's someone I'd want to do it, it would be him.

Here's hoping he gets his wish and Lucasarts produce a revamp of the Monkey Island games for the DS too!

Ok, so I'm personally waiting for Overlord to fall down in price (To the 20 levels) and I loved the demo for that so much that I play it every other day. To show how much I'm excited by this DeathSpank game, I'm going to buy it the day it comes out in the UK. No waiting for it to come down in price, just buying it the second I see it in the shops.

WHAT?!

YEAH!!

Ron Gilbert is a legend. The only reason nobody hears of him much is because LucasArts stabbed him in the back. Who can say no to the guy who made Monkey Island 1-4, Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tenticle and Sam n Max?

(PS: There is a fantastic remake of MM on the net. Coded in AGS)

Ron Gilbert is a legend. He is.

The only reason nobody hears of him much is because LucasArts stabbed him in the back.As far as I'm aware, he left the company when it started to change direction. Relations can't have been that bad, though, because he used the SCUMM engine to create the games he made as part of Humungous.

Who can say no to the guy who made Monkey Island 1-4, Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tenticle and Sam n Max?He left around the time of DoTT, so he wasn't involved in Sam n Max, or the later Monkey Islands, but still, point taken :D
