View Full Version : Another 360 question!

I'd heard from the local rumour mill that putting certain cds/dvds into your 360 will cause it to die. Things such as burned cd compilations, burned music vid comp dvd's, or non region 2 dvd's (for us in the UK). Is there any truth to this? I'd like to put some music on my 360, but I'd rather not have it die on me...

Why would it die? It's not like it's been programmed to blow up once a home-written disk is inserted.
In fact, back when the first 360 patch was released, Microsoft encouraged burning the patch on cd and installing it on your 360 like that if you didn't have Xbox Live. I did it like that (didn't have Live back then) and it worked fine for me.

Hmmm, I suppose that helps, but what I really want is someone to come along and say "I put x,y,z into my 360 and it worked fine" :D

load of crud, ive put several different types of CD, DvD and the like into my 360, hell it plays some pirate ones my PC would not touch (DvDs that is).

If its a bad DvD it just does not let you use it and leaves it in the drive, only time its ever happened is wehn one of my games disks got really heavily scratched, the x-box just sits there in the menu saying its a damaged DvD.

Ok, great, that's what I wanted to hear. Guess I'll go try it out myself after much dithering...

I've only put in home burned Music discs and they worked fine, DVDs should work as well.
