Emperor's Children "Wing" for Baltimore GD, 1-15-08

I thought I would post something here for those interested in following along as I work towards completing my force for the Baltimore Games Day 2008.

The rundown:

A Deathwing force with one allied squad of Grey Knight Terminators (1500 points).
Dark Angels rules with Grey Knights allied (paint scheme is Emperor's Children though).
All plastic army, no metal.
Only nine colors total.
No black or white paint used.
No decals, all freehand work.
Lots of conversions.

I have been working on it for about a month and a half now.

what u got done so far is really good, i think it would of been cool if u did all your termies with the pre-herasy shoulder armour though, but i suppose the squad which has them done will stand out more.

I have a feeling I saw the first terminator over on EC.net as well some time ago. I've often wondered how one could go for gritty, muted, realistic shades when painting an Emperor's Children force and you've saved me the bother of figuring it out. Marvelous work, I especially like the possessed parts/mutations on the finished squad, blends in perfectly and really takes chaos away from spikey marines into something that looks individual.

As to the purple, you've seen my work, little chance of helping with a muted colour scheme. ;) Though I agree it needs some form of shading or highlighting from looking at the test marine, they will indeed really stand out when done though.

Consider me subscribed in any case.

Some of this has been floated around EC.net. They are so friendly over there. Something about those Slaanesh fellows, they just invite you right in.

Anyway, I'll post here when I add army updates so you all can stay up to date. I hope to get my third "test model" with another purple color scheme done this weekend. Of course, that's in addition to keeping the regular pace so I can get done on time.
