Well? The two choices in the Guard Codex seem kind of, bleh. So I'd like to spice it up a bit with some Forge World variants.

Where is some Vostroyan background? I'll check it out and guess what I think they'd use ;)

Honestly though, I think anything goes.

Ahaha, I'd like to know that same question myself.

ragnarok pattern?

I dont know if it is offical, but they fit the style, and look legitimate...

Being a "Forge World" army (as in being drafted from a Forge World) I'd expect them to field very high-tech, and therefore, rare LR variants. I dunno what tech Vostroya specialises in, but I'd throw in an executioner or a Vanquisher for good measure.

oh nvm, its a custom build...

I think the most common variant I've seen them pictured with is the Demolisher, but Exterminators would also seem like a good choice.

They seem well-equipped, to I guess an Executioner would not hurt, being rare plasma tech.

Huh? I'm confused....

Vostroya isnt a forge world, yes i does manufacture goods for the armies but its not a forge world.

Since vostroyans are mostly about urban fighting i guess their variant would be more flamer-melta gun with maybe some H.bolter oriented.
so its Demolisher,Conqueror or Exterminator probably

to be honest all none barage tanks seem quite 'canon'.

Demolisher for bulkiness and raw firepower, and the Executioner to represent their high-tech forgeworld origins.

He was talking about the Ragnarok pattern, a converted "heavy tank" made by Dave Taylor i think; same as a leman russ.

Executioners are kinda cool model wise, in the game their points costs and efficiency are rather poor. 150pts (?) for a small blast, plasma cannon that hits on a 4+.

Ill just recommend the exterminator (twin linked auto) because its cool and works pretty good. 14 shots out of that tank. 9 HB, 2 AC, 3 HS. :D

That Exterminator sound pretty nice. Now I just need to "come across" the rules somehow...
Because I'm not interested in buying the entire book for one tank...

I dont know why everyone likes the Ragnarok, it looks stupid! A box on wheels.

The Executioner is nasty, able to shoot its plasma cannon, 3 heavy bolters AND a heavy stubber in one shooting phase.

The executioner gets 13 shots from that ;)

You can find them in the armoured company list at the GW website. Here you are... (http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/imperialguard/gaming/ac_rules/assets/ac_rules.pdf)

Ah, but it evokes a truly awesome real-world tank - the Soviet WWII-era KV-II:

There is no Ragnarok pattern Russ, the Ragnarok is an inferior tank when compared to the Russ and is used by Siege regiments that need to be quantity, not quality.

I play Death Korps and i will NEVER stoop to use that horrible looking pile of junk.

Im using Malcadors with Battle cannons as Leman Russes :P

Its actually real scale now!

Well luckily for you, the Korps don't use it anymore. Now if you played a Baran or Egyptus army...
