Hey there everyone. I've been wanting to do a Dwarf army for a while now, and decided it would be cool to do the more traditional minded Dwarfs of Karak Hirn for a theme. This means no gunpowder and no new-fangled contraptions, just trusty axe and bolt. I've also decided to go for a more offensive geared force. This is my first shot at a list like this, so let me know how it looks.

Thane-
Shield
Rune of Cleaving
Rune of Cleaving
Rune of Resistance
Rune of Stone

Thane-
Battle Standard
Strollaz's Rune
Rune of Guarding
*goes with Warriors

Thane-
Great Weapon
Shield
Master Rune of Kragg the Grim
Rune of Fury
Rune of Stone
Rune of Brotherhood
*goes with Rangers

19 Dwarf Warriors-
Shields
Musician
Standard Bearer
Veteran

12 Quarrellers(Rangers)-
Great Weapons
Rangers
Musician
Veteran

20 Miners-

Go for MroGromril, and GW. It'll save you some points and pretty much do the same thing. With I3, you'll hardly be striking first anyways.

Thane-
Battle Standard
Strollaz's Rune
Rune of Guarding
*goes with Warriors
Is Strollaz necessary for this list? Miners, and Rangers will hopefully be deployed somewhere away from your deployment zone. So only your warriors, and Slayers will benefit from this.

Thane-
Great Weapon
Shield
Master Rune of Kragg the Grim
Rune of Fury
Rune of Stone
Rune of Brotherhood
*goes with Rangers
I love pulling this kind of stuff too. Dropping a whopping GW wielding Thane behind enemy lines. But in reality, the rangers depend too much on terrain to make the points back. Especially with a Thane like this. But if you're going for a theme or just for friendly game. Then go for it

19 Dwarf Warriors-
Shields
Musician
Standard Bearer
Veteran
Good stuff

12 Quarrellers(Rangers)-
Great Weapons
Rangers
Musician
Veteran

20 Miners-
Musician
Standard Bearer
Prospector
Steam Drill
Are these guys around to be a combat block, or one of those guys that come out of nowhere to scare people? If you to just hunt warmachines make them smaller. But if you want them to be dedicated combat unit that pops up everywhere, they're fine as they are.

15 Slayers-
Musician
Standard Bearer
Giant Slayer
I find Musician and Standard rather useless for slayers. They're unbreakable, so tying for CR really isn't a big deal.

Bolt Thrower-
Engineer
Rune of Penetrating

Bolt Thrower-
Engineer
Master Rune of Skewering
Rune of Penetrating
Just a BT with engineer would work too.

TOTAL-1500pts.

I'd say you should try to fit in more blocks of infantries. And go a little lighter on Characters.
