View Full Version : A wondrous log of aliens, football players, Spaceships and big guns

25-02-2008, 16:48
After my work on the Imperial Guard and Deamon Hunters (to be found in my signature) I decided to expand the log a bit and add some other armies and game systems and because of this from now on all my stuff will be in this log.

I will continue with IG and DH but in addition there will be the following in this log.
For 40k: Eldar and Space Marines
Gothic: Imperial Navy and Eldar
Fantasy: High Elves
Bloodbowl: Elf Pro Team
and maybe some Epic Imperial Guard.

This is what the Guard and Inquisition look like at the moment

This is my BB team

and some of my old High Elves that I plan to continue after a long time

Please excuse the bad picturs. bad light, worse camera, worst user. (and the automatic rezising of the pictures doesn't improve the quality either)

Ah, good to see that you aren;t dead :p
I've said this before, but that i a lovely guard army you have there :)
Looking forward to seeing some more progress ;)

Judging from the title, this must be one of the most manliest logs around.:D Nice pictures so far; I really haven't seen Land Raiders (in flesh) for too long. This one looks big next to the Chimeras. Best of luck with all your stuff to paint!

Awesome to see this back up and running, Gropius! Looking foreward to more of the Gaurd, Inq and everything else!

That dragon's wings look great - do you have any better shots?

26-02-2008, 06:45
Please show us more of that dragon:D

If your IG are anything to go by, I can't wait to see your Eldar and SM...what chapter are you thinking?

Keep going Gropius old boy.

definatly want to see more in this vein.

Thanks for all the great replies.
I was a bit sick and didn't get really anything done, but I tried to get some (slightly) better pictures.

Here is one of the Dragon
That is aproximately the pose it is supposed to be in, but the legs and base aren't done yet. The texture on the wings doesn't really show in the picture, I'll probably have to undercoat the model to really see what it looks like.

And a picture to show the paint scheme I'm probably gonna use on the High Elves.
I'm going to repaint all the hands as gloves. Please excuse the bases, they really look bad. Newer bases will look better.
The army will be white, silver and gold, with more colour on gemstones, banners and characters. I'm planning to split the army in sections with own little schemes, to represent nobles from different parts of Ulthuan with their liegemen. An example for this are the archers in my first post. They use Wood Elf parts to represent Elves from Avelorn.

At the moment though I'm trying to get the BB team finished. Maybe some pics later today.

The Marine Chapter is going to use the Dark Angel rules and is called Sable Guard. I'm still working out company markings etc.

I found some time to work on my BB team, still wip, only the skin is done
Not sure yet how to paint the leather and the gloves and weather i should use silver or bronze on the metal parts.

And as posts with 40k in them always get more replies some sneak peeks:)

The BB team look pretty sweet but....TITAN! and that's the old MK1 scorpian isn't it, nice.

14-03-2008, 17:48
Yes it is the old version. I tried to get it a bit more in line with the rest of the Eldar tanks by reaming the lines between the armour plating and getting rid of some gemlike things on the barrels. Now I have to smooth out the edges of the plating and I found my old airbrush and some cans of air so I will see if I can use it at least for the base coat of the super heavies.

14-03-2008, 22:47
Looking foreward to that!

23-03-2008, 18:26
Another update, but no Titan this time. Sorry

For now and for the last time the Elf team.

and some more wip tanks for the Imperial Guard.
All of them have magnetized sponsons

That's it for today

Very nice BloodBowl team Gropius; both the red and the black are very well highlighted. My one slight point is that the skin doesn;t look quite pale enough for Elf skin, although as they're exercising that may be explicable...

Have I just raised a point then successfully argued against it in the same sentence...

23-03-2008, 19:05
That's exactly why I chose a darker skin colour. And because, as its a Pro team, it doesn't consist of nobles and princes like a Hig Elf team, but more of your Average Joe/Elf and because of this I wanted them to look a bit more weather beaten.

23-03-2008, 19:09
Ah right; bear in mind I know nothing about Blood Bowl so the pro-team thingy just sort of washed over me ;)

24-03-2008, 21:56
Looking really good, the deep red on the pads looks sharp.
And is that Catachan green on the tanks?

24-03-2008, 23:32
Schöne Sachen hast du hier Gropius. ;-)
Ich finde vor allem deinen Inquisitor aus deinem anderen Log einfach nur klasse, selbst wenn das Schema nur von Tyrus gemobst ist.

So keep up with this great work. :chrome:

26-03-2008, 20:38
@lu&pu Danke schön:)

@verydarkshadow Thanks. It is catachan green.

First part of the camo is done. Bestial brown is next

And this is what the titan looks like at the moment.
This is not the final positioning, but without glueing the parts together, the pins are all what is holding the parts.
