Carrying on from where I left off on the old Portent, here on the last alliance (http://www.thelastalliance.com/index.php?pid=view_replies&thread_id=34332&forum_id=1) is a tentative list on what is coming up soon.

Enjoy

That list looks quite interesting. So far I think the following are new (or have been limited one way or another):

GAW 02-37 Lord of the Rings: Legolas on Foot and Mounted $20.00
GAW 02-96 Lord of the Rings: Sam and Bill the Pony $10.00
GAW 02-97 Lord of the Rings: Witch King of Angmar Mounted $10.00
GAW 02-98 Lord of the Rings: Gandalf the Grey Mounted $10.00
GAW 03-37 Lord of the Rings: Sharku on Foot and Mounted $20.00
GAW 03-38 Lord of the Rings: Gothmog on Foot and Mounted $20.00
GAW 03-41 Lord of the Rings: Eomer on Foot and Mounted $20.00
GAW 04-35 Lord of the Rings: Aragorn King of Gondor on Foot and Mounted $20.00
GAW 04-38 Lord of the Rings: Sulladan on Foot and Mounted $20.00
GAW 05-43 Lord of the Rings: Isildur on Foot and Mounted $20.00
GAW 06-10 Lord of the Rings: Guardians of the Shire $45.00

It is a good idea to supply mounted and unmounted versions of minis. It seams that someone resposible for sales has finally got the time to play one game of LotR or another. ;)

Have fun,

Rolf.

The trend of selling mounted and foot models together started with Mordheim, although it seems the same hasnt happened with Fantasy all that much (for monsterous mounts). Its a very sensible idea though given that you need models in both states.

The Glorfindel blister came with both the mounted (on Asfaloth!) and foot versions. It is a shame that GW have taken so long to continue this.

I wonder if we will get Arwen on horse without Frodo?

On this subject, it is a pity that GW can't use the film imagery for book only events. Imagine Frodo on Asfaloth, brandishing his sword at the fords:

'By Elbereth and Lúthien the Fair,' said Frodo with a last effort, lifting up his sword, 'you shall have neither the Ring nor me!'
Quote taken from LOTR Book 1 Chapter 12 Flight to the Ford

I think that Gw could produce a Frodo on Asfaloth, all they need is a generic white horse with a generic Frodo on top. The face can be obscured bu putting the sword over the head.

Or they could do something similar as with Scouring of the Shire Saruman. Frodo could be looking slightly to the side with his hood/hair covering his face.

The Witch King on horse should look good - unless its justr he FotR version and not RotK. All Those Rohan heroes should be useful - and beyond the list here I have seen pics of Hama and Theodred on foot (but not on horse yet)

Also, since I have been to GD, I can guarantee that there will, very soon by the looks of it, be a plastic mines of moria game. They had the box and miniatures there with the Perry twins. Plastic Fellowship (I saw the models, look pretty good) and cave troll! If this has already been mentioned, sorry!

Perhaps a box set containing lots of Hobbits that have already been released - an Army Deal for Hobbits?

Or maybe a box set of Rangers (led by a new Aragorn model)????

yeah, the Rangers might just make sense

Anyway, the list came from the Last Alliance. It has a good reputation for predicting releases correctly, but the size of the avatars is a little off-putting!

definately, tham that it doesn't list contents though.

Anyway, i'll not be making a great deal of purchases until the Easterling come out (as i have plenty models to get through plus at least 2 LOTR models a month courtesy of BGIME)

I also think that the guardians of the Shire will be Rangers of the North. Hopefully they will add one or two new minis to the existing ones. Should be a good deal anyways.

Have fun,

Rolf.
