So finally here is another german workmanship log.
I or better we hope you like it.
We because we are a couple and we both enjoy the hobby.
This is my wife Lu
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Familie/DSC00370.jpg
and this is me, Pu
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Familie/CRIM0263.jpg.

This will be a log about our minatures.
About her Eldar and in some month her orks.
About my Marines and Guardsmen.
And maybe soon about our Tau.

Maybe we can post some pics later on.
Hope you will enjoy.

Cheers

I got first reply!

It sounds like you've got a lot of work to do then ;)

How's your Chimera coming along?

Colonel Haizelhoff
09-03-2008, 13:27
Nooooo!!!! I wanted the first reply ;). Well not a lot of miniatures to comment on, but hope to see some soon :)

Lu&Pu

Well maybe not an update but next part of our start here.
The Eldar made by Lu look like this:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Eldar/Gardisten/DSC00354.jpg

She likes to call them ´The blue army´.
Because much blue on the minis and ice-bases.
The Chimera didn´t see much progress. It got an undercoat of black.
Herewith a pic of my Leman Russ still some kind of WIP:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Imperial%20Guard/Leman%20Russ/DSC00332.jpg

Should I go with the same pattern for the Chimera (the black thing behind the Russ)?

And here is a WIP guardsmen a Sergeant of a normal squad:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Imperial%20Guard/Guardsmen/DSC00345.jpg

Hope you enjoy.

Colonel Haizelhoff

The pattern on the russ is nice, and the blue on the eldar looks nice with the ice bases. Go for the pattern on the chimera IMO. Is the chimera for a loyal guard army?

Lu&Pu
10-03-2008, 09:19
Thanks, yes the Chimera is for a loyal guard army.
The pattern is obviously a desert camo, I can explain how to but only if demanded.

Lu´s blue Eldar really suit her table which we complete more and more, maybe I´m able to take some pics (depends on if I get the phone of my mom).

Here a pic of Lu´s present made by me for her beginning with the hobby:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Eldar/Runenprophet/DSC00153.jpg

I really like how he turned out and I´m satisfied with his look.

So what else?
Shall I take some pics of our hole armies?
Of course every army alone?!

Tell me.

Galatan

Awesome stuff :). Never been a fan with ice blue, but it seems to turn out nicely on the eldar and guardsman. Can't wait to see more. I also love the farseer conversion, great job with the shooting kroot head, it really gives something extra.

Cheers,

Some great miniatures. I really like those eldar. the ice bases are great and so is the rest of them ^^

The IG tank looks great too :)

Lu&Pu
10-03-2008, 12:15
Thanks for the replies.
Actually I made the farseer for my wife. ;)

And the blue is Entchanted Blue. :skull:
On the guardsmen as well as on the Eldar.
Ice blue would loke like this:
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Eldar/Ranger/DSC00361.jpg
These are the Rangers for her Eldar army made by Lu.

Oh and Lu is a great painter watch this:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Eldar/Harlequine/DSC00347.jpg

her work and I´m really proud upon her.
It is still WIP but nice at all.

You should be proud, you're a very lucky man, and you're both very talented too. That farseer is fantastic and i love the camo pattern on the russ.

Keep it up.

Definitely use the same camo scheme on the Chimera and Nice job.

Very nice, but there's one thing that irks me- if the psychic power the Farseer is using is supposed to be flame, it's backwards. Flames are brightest in the base and get darker the farther away. Right now it just looks orange.

As someone once said about the revolutionary electro group Kraftwerk, "they were German! They could build things!!!". :D

Great conversion on the farseer. Catbarf is right about flames, but it's difficult to highlight spmething 'from within' and make it come out right. Good work all round, looking froward to more.

That is why it is a psychic power. :p What the farseer does in this pose is some kind of magic it is not understandable for us, at least for every imperial citizen. Otherwise the first try on it did not seem good to me anyway:

Thanks for the compliment. We do not like ´Kraftwerk´ that much but one ´song´ is pretty nice: "Das Model".

I hope I will be able to take the pics of the table tomorrow.
There is not much progress on the Chimera so far because we build a present for our GW-shop concerning the Easteregg-Projekt.
We will post pics of it after this sunday. :chrome:

Thanks, no progress jet due to the short time till sunday to get ready with the present.
But to keep you updated here is a pick of one of my veterans for my marine army, still WIP:

Lu&Pu
12-03-2008, 11:15
So here some kind of an update.
At first my (Pus) workspace:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/DSC00367.jpg
I see I need to tidy up. ^^ Far left on the pic you can see a warpgate for Lus table.
And then I took some photos on the armies.
Here is Lus army still small and alomost PIP but she just began with the hobby:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Eldar/DSC00398.jpg

In near future I think she will buy a box of harlequins to complete the harlie troop.
I guess the minis on the photo are something about 600 till 700 pionts.
But I can be wrong because I´m not sure about most of the pointvalues.

Here a pic of at least 750 points Guard:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Imperial%20Guard/DSC00374.jpg

The squad next to the Chimera should count 10 models ´cause it is a armoured fist squad (hope this was the word for it), but the other six models stick to a box on which they were primed.

Edit: I would like to get this little army done by lets say mid od april.
Half of the platoon on the left need to be redone and I have another one and a half platoon in my army case. So whoop me and I will manage it.

As promised a pic of her table okay it is more like moveable terrain:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Spieltische/DSC00397.jpg

The Land Raider on it is for skale, the quaters measure 24" each so they come to a size of a normal gamingtable for 40k.

As always hope you enjoy.
C&C is welcome also in future.

Colonel Haizelhoff
12-03-2008, 14:21
Nice marines! The table will surely be nice;)

I absolutely love your eldar(making me want to actually make some progress on mine)and that terrain board is just dying to get finished!

Lu&Pu
14-03-2008, 21:18
So finally some äh...yeah call it progress even if it is no real one.

Some minor progress on the Armoured Fist squad:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Imperial%20Guard/Guardsmen/DSC00410.jpg
Two squadmember and a headless radio operator (not sure if this is the right word).
No good pic of the Sergeant jet.
But the rest of the squad in some kind of a painting queue:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Imperial%20Guard/Guardsmen/DSC00412.jpg

Then a pic of the warpgate (I would call it so) or in true english webway for Lus ice board:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Spieltische/DSC00414.jpg

Still not ready with it but the end is visible.

And here is a pic of my fortress which will in future times be assigned to my desert board:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Spieltische/DSC00418.jpg

So far for this post but get the next....

Lu&Pu
14-03-2008, 21:20
Here is at least not only for Valo a Drop Pod for my Marines:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/Fahrzeuge/DSC00422.jpg

In size comparison to a normal Vet. Sergeant (yes with stormbolter and powerfist) and my Land Raider.

Hope you enjoy.

Well as promised some pics of our Easter bunny.
It still stands in the GW-shop in Leipzig, because the staff votes which one is the best. There were two entries one egg with a little absorber on a CoD part and our sweet bunny. ^^

So here some pics:

The armoured fist squad is nearly done. But I made no real progress on the chimera. And due to a small budget Lu couldn´t buy any new things for her eldar. But she won some orky Orks saturday, a mekboy and an orkbike oh and some warmaster Orks.

Thats all for now.
Hope you enjoy.

The bunny is amazing!!!!!! I'm sure you all had a good laugh at the store. Hope it wins!

Lu&Pu
22-03-2008, 17:19
Guess what. ^^
We won, but there were two first places. Good in any way if anyone would ask me.
And the prize was an old librarian in Terminator Armour, Lu hate it because she collects only Orks and Eldar, but she will give it to me as a present tomorrow. ^^

We came for him (our bunny) today, and he looks as good as he should...just cute. The bunny is now easter decoration in the flat of Lus parents.

Cheers :)

Here is a tutorial to build such a Webway Gate (http://games-workshop.de/warhammer40000/races/eldar/hobby/warpportal2/index.shtm), though it is in german but I think that doesn´t matter because the pics there should tell you enough. :D

I´m still not sure whether to make it red or leaving it black or so.

Oh not to forget and just for my ego and to show that I have one of those:

I think the Sweet Bunny needs a few more skulls or glyph plates to really make it look like it belongs in the 40K universe, otherwise the painting is top notch (nice blending on the Sweet Bunny ;)).

So lets get to the updates;

Almost finished Armoured Fist squad:

Need to finish this guy, then I will be done with this squad:

Some more pics in the next post...

I think all remember the librarian?!
So here are his legs:
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/HQ/DSC00514.jpg

Which will be used in some form for this:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/HQ/DSC00519.jpg

And a scale shot to a "normal" Termi:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/HQ/DSC00520.jpg

Actually this Librarian was 2-3mm shorter/ smaller than the other Termi shown in the pic. So I saw off the torso, which is for now useless, but no one knows what tomorrow will bring, right? ^^

I will make a psychic power around the power fist, the axe will be his craft weapon. Only problem on him: I need to build his dorsum/ back on my own...

Much fun I hope.

Stay tuned and leave comments and/ or critcs

Lu&Pu

Well....
But progress on the Librarian;

Some armour plates for his bum and his waist:
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/HQ/DSC00532.jpg
His torso on the legs compared to a WIP/ PIP Termi:

Same from the side:
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/HQ/DSC00540.jpg

A pic from above Librarian with arms without shoulderpads, pay attention to the "thickness" of his body, he his much smaller than his counterparts but I like him more.
Enough words see the pic:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/HQ/DSC00546.jpg

Forgive me the bad pics but it is late and due to this conditiones nothing better can be made by me.

Base is not for him it just layed around here so I took it to stand him upon it he is even not glued together. ^^

Hopefully I get some replies this time, it is really embarrassing for me....*sniff*

So far right now, need to get some sleep, now.

Cheers

The seperate parts for the Librarian, still not all I think:

The Libby standing, backview:

I think of using this:

To make something like this:
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/HQ/DSC00557.jpg.

What do you think of it?
Any ideas on which and how I should show the power he will use with the powerfist hand / arm??

O.o Ähm I think this is a compliment, right? ^^ So thank you, sir.
But think of it as Warp-born creature, and that even Eldar use the Warp to use their unholy powers, so you get the idea.

loads off greenstuff in a cool way onto the powerfist is enough IMO.

Most time here Pu (out of Lu&Pu) is writting I think you will forget me that I always speek in the ego-form... So Lu had an idea on the psychic power, she thought of doing something like a ball / planet around the fist, with lightnings on it, I have still a lack of imagine this but she will paint some ideas for me tomorrow. Harhar. ^^

hey i must ahve missed that conversion! looking good. im making a terminator right now, and i know how fiddly the torso can be - great work. though i have a question - what did you use for the vents in the back?

Thank you for your backup, sir.
The vents? Harhar. ^^

Take a look at normal jumppacks for Space Marines. ;-)
I guess this is the best hint I can give you.

By the way like your true scale minis, they are not big...and not tall at all...they are huge. *thumbs up* I even like your Chaplain, though he needs some more work, right?
Well I will post it in your log.

As I´m starting with my second semester tuesday I will maybe make an update this morning and the next could possibly be not sooner than the next weekend. And as I oversee it right now my schedule is more than horrible...
Wish me some luck with it.

And please give me somewhat more input, I remember an unanswered question concerning my commissar. ;-)

Pekel
31-03-2008, 02:15
Hard to tell without seeing the Commissar's face painted, but I think that the cap should remain black (the typical Commissar color). Post another picture when you've got more progress, since it might need some brighter color up in that area.

Really like the Librarian's axe and I think you should definitely try converting the Genestealer skull into a servo-skull - I'm planning on trying that myself!

Any ideas on which and how I should show the power he will use with the powerfist hand / arm??

that depends on what type of power it is. you could paint lightning bolts (like night lord armour) on the fist.

maybe you could model flames onto it

or a shooting skull! hehe

not sure, it really would look different depending on the power you decide to give him

Idea to pose him, but not sure, will try to take some other pics later.

Though a bad pic, but I thought of trying to make the Libby pushing away this Dark Eldar with his Poweraxe....What do you think good idea or not so good?

Cheers :D

i like the 'stealer skull, though it looks more like he's spearing the elf in that last pic than using an axe. a better pic might help see it better, but im really loving the angle of the left are in relation to the body

Super Umbauten!
Der Scriptor is ziemlich beeindruckend findich... :)

But back to english now to ensure the whole board can read it... ;)

Concerning your comissar:
I'd leave the cap black, but have a red lining. There is the little gap between the top and the... erh... hat-ring? At least on the older models... you could paint that red.
Hard to explain... I did something like that with my senior Commisar in my IG. Take a look here at my BootCamp-ArmyLog:
http://z4.invisionfree.com/Boot_Camp/index.php?showtopic=8510
2cnd Post, 2cnd Picture, Titled "VIPs".
The Commisar could do with soem more red details anyway, if you want to keep to established fluff...

Anyway, nice work, you sure have a liking for bright colours, don't you?

Reading all these Blogs here reminds me I have to get working on my stuff again!

I´m really sorry to get no pics up for you...:cries:

I had no cam to make any pics.
I stuffed the Libby a bit more, and I cut the legs shorter to rebuilt them.
One of my Veterans of my DIY SM Chapter who is walking downstairs got a robe and he will get some kind of a pelt around his shoulders (thought of laying the pelt over the backpack and the shoulderpads) to show that he is a hounerable Marine.

I really hope to get some pics up soon, I am really ashamed by these circumstances....

Some little mistakes, but German is a much harder to learn language than english, indeed. ;-) And I like reading german lines in an english board, so please keep posting in german here would be really fine.
We do not call the Libby "Bibliothekar", your right, of course it is the right translation, but for some reason the german translation studio from GW translated it with: "Scriptor" nowadays with "Epistolarius" and "Codifizier"...not really sure why but hey, who cares. ^^

Thank you too, Heathgrove.
The Libby in Termi-Armour is a little problem for now...I need to make him at least 1-2 cm taller. He is to small or at least to tiny concerning his legs and compared to another normal Termi.

Colours for the Chimera...well like the Leman Russ I thought, that means like this:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Imperial%20Guard/Leman%20Russ/DSC00333.jpg

I thought I could make something like a paint tutorial, when the time comes and I paint the Chimera. What do you think?

Sorry for beeing long time not present guys...
It is hard to study, paint/model miniatures and to have a wife and "so called baby" (last one is our little dog, could be really my child, she is just a bit to hairy ^^ )

Okay I have some minor updates but hopefully I can, from now on (even not next week, I will take a little vacation in austria probably), provide more updates. Best for this is that my mom bought herself a new mobilephone a I got her "old one" so I have from now on an own camera which is not to bad I think.

So up to some pics, right?

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/terminatoren/DSC00698.jpg
Both still painted guys are reworked and "truescaled" I allready said something about this in one of my last posts.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/terminatoren/DSC00699.jpg
Here a comparission shot between the new upscaled Termi and the still WiP Librarian, should fit, right?

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/DSC00694.jpg
Lu got this from our beloved GW-Shop in Leipzig, it was built for the presentation of the new vampires (vampire counts, right?).
She walked in the shop and said "Hey Ralf, do you still have the graveyard stone? I wanted to show it to Sophie here." Ralf went shortly in the cellar and came up saying "You mean this one? Take it it´s yours, otherwise I´ll put it in my flat".
So Lu wandered a whole day through Leipzig with two gothics in black to both her sides and she was carrying this graveyard stone. ^^
I really like it, would be a nice piece of terrain for those really big games.

Okay thats it for now, I still have to learn for three tests: MTP, TD and English.
MTP is tomorrow, TD is tuesday and English (my last one, yeah) is friday and if nothig comes in between I will go on vacation on the day after my english test.

You know what that means, leave some comments or critics, and wish me luck. ;-)

What do you guys think? This newer one was former a heavy flamer Termi so he will be after upscaling. Weapons on the "readier" one still "blue-taced" (you call it like this, right?)

Thats it for now. C&C welcome you know. ^^

Thank you Mr Feral.
Four out of five Termies allready upscaled, just the sergeant and then greenstuffing. Still not sure if I only paint the places which obviously need a paintjob or if I repaint them at all. I the repaint is worth the effort, but it could/would require stripping the minis from their current paint.

Will post a pic later this day, hopefully of the whole squad. And by the way I think to use them as the guard for the Librarian, which is, of course (a pain I know) still WIP and not nearer his completition than he was a month ago...:cries:

But near future will be ideal for painting and modeling, promissed.

C&C still appreciated. ;-)

Hello Lu&Pu, I think all you need to do when taking your pics is move the camera back a little further from the models. As you can see, the glue in the bottom right of the photo is in focus so it's not the about the bad light in this case.

Keep up the good work both of you!

P.S. the name Lu&Pu is really catchy!

Thanks for the hint, but the were taken with flashlight/photoflash because it was to dark outside. I still prefer sunlight for taking pics.
Focus should normally be in the middle, cam has no autofocus if I remind me correctly.

Well we hope to keep up our work, can only get better.

Why is "Lu&Pu" catchy? Does it mean anything I´m not introduced to, or do I have another lack in my knowledge?

Gruesse nach Leipzig ;) Hast echt ne schoene Frau, wenn ich das mal so sagen darf.

Now on to my personal opinions: Since I don't lke the color blue on imps, I think your guard looks... weird, but somehow it fits on your wives eldar. I would like to see those termies repainted, I can't figure out what they look like, because they're so colourfull :D
Now a hint on tanking photos: Put smth like a piece of paper behind the minis, or just put them next to a wall, that should make the camera focus on the minis automatically.

Erhalten Sie die gute Arbeit aufrecht!
And have a nice vacation in the alps :)

The putty which looks like really light green is a mixture of greenstuff and milliput (standart) somehow it reminded my on my dentist....don´t ask. ^^

News on the Eldar front.

First for that a Dire Avenger still PIP:

And some bases for the next wave of them:

And from now on the green tide is coming....

Last pic for this update:

Lus Nob from behind still somewhat PIP but kind of tasty. ^^

Did I ever complained about the four-pic-limit? No? Then I have done that now....*shaking head from left to right and backwards*

To answer the last reply:

Gruesse nach Leipzig ;) Hast echt ne schoene Frau, wenn ich das mal so sagen darf.

Now on to my personal opinions: Since I don't lke the color blue on imps, I think your guard looks... weird, but somehow it fits on your wives eldar. I would like to see those termies repainted, I can't figure out what they look like, because they're so colourfull :D
Now a hint on tanking photos: Put smth like a piece of paper behind the minis, or just put them next to a wall, that should make the camera focus on the minis automatically.

And have a nice vacation in the alps :)

Thank you I really love her and she is indeed really pretty and beautyful otherwise... ah you know what i mean. ^^
Actually we life near Leipzig somewhat 40 km away...

Blue on Imps was something different from the other Imp-armies I have seen so far. Repaint the Termies, dound a method now how to strip the colour but brush cleaner is still really aggressive to the plastic so I need to be careful with that if I want to keep the details.

Vacation was very nice but the train journey was not my cup of tea, never trust the db company...

Thats it for now folks, C&C welcome and appreciated so you know what to do. ^^

Waaaaaagh!

Thats it. ^^

Just waiting on Assault on Black Reach, maybe this weekend, hopefully. If not, who cares I can wait.

All Termies getting pelts around their shoulders right now. Pics coming when I take them. ;-P

In the meantime I sadly miss a bit response from you guys. :cries:
Anyhow till next time.

Seems like you guys are doing great. The only thing I might suggest, is some wash on the ork's skin, it would need some dark green or black in the recesses IMO.

Lu&Pu
03-09-2008, 19:56
Actually the Nob and the Mek got washed with Thraka Green. ^^

Maybe these pics aren´t that good to show this kind of detail.
Anyways thanks for the reply. ^^

Stay tuned, right?

Sorry for letting you wait for so long... But reallife is my nemesis. ^^
And I got sidetracked by stalker clear sky which is IMO a cool shooter, sadly I never played stalker shadow of chernobyl.

Now on to some "updates".
Got this some minutes ago.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/DSC00852.jpg

And to prove I´m still working see these pics.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/HQ/DSC00854.jpg

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/terminatoren/DSC00855.jpg

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/terminatoren/DSC00853.jpg

Stripped the Termies with paint cleaner at the beginning with the product by Revel but since I was out of it I tryed some other can´t remember the name now. The new one is much more aggressive to the plastic. I only apply the paint cleaner with an old tooth brush so I can rub the paint of the model with a bit more ease. But unfortunatly after some moments of brushing and rubbing I can see my fingerprints on the mini which is not what intend to do nor to have as the outcome when I´m ready whith it....

Was really hard I can tell. ^^

So until the next news from my side.

And @Colonel Haizelhoff, hope you are stil tuned. ^^

He warseer community just to show you we are not death or something else...so we´re still there.^^

Since my study is really tough (three internships a week with an internship journal which has to be ready just one week after) and Lu has holidays we decided to pull out her photocam and take some nice pics of some of our minis.

So here are two pics which are ready by now (Lu is cutting several pics together in one, in this way we can show you more)

and

Hope you enjoy.
Would like to show you some ideas on paintjob for the Termies but since photobucket seems to dislike .php thingy things I have no idea how to show you. I used the b&c SM painter and the TSM painter.

Well until the next update.
C&C is appreciated.

What is that?? NO replies at all? After this time? Huh....*sadly watching at the floor*

Anyways I found a way to show you my thoughts on a refreshed paint scheme for my Marines. I will give you an impression of my "old" paint scheme and maybe you can give me some advise. I post a normal Marine and a sergeant like I painted them before the new codex (note the normal Marine has boltpistol and chainsword since this was allowed under the last codex).
So here´s the normal one:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/smnunu2.jpg

And here´s a sergeant:
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/smserg2.jpg

To tell something more, just shortly:

The chapter was/is named ´Lord Warriors´ as I thought that this name is saying something. The chapter should consist of between 7 and 10 Great Companies like the Space Wolves. (Like the idea of all ranks in one company.) Under the last codex I thought not use the iconography like codex-chapters do for example shoulder pad trimes and so on. If I would have followed this my company would have been the second...
But since the ´Lord Warriors´are more organized like the SW there is no "first" or "second" company, right? The chapter symbol was for simplicity (I collected Black Templars before) a golden Templar-Cross. Since I used these shoulder pads I should stay with that.
What more...
Ahhh...you can see a silver lower leg on the normal one, this symbolizes that he is more or less a normal Marine. If the shin guard is golden it means sergeant or veteran. If the helmet is golden, which is only allowed if the shin guard is it to then it is a veteran sergeant.
In my imagination (started this army long ago) a privileged Marine was allowed to wear metal-colors so to symbolize an honoured Marine his helmet and/or his left shoulderpad is/are silver. Later in the HQ section I got many problems with this idea...for example a chaplain should keep his normal black power armour etc...

In my now re-freshed idea I thought of using bleached bone instead of gold and maybe to stick more at the current codex.

Fluff wise I still want to stick with the Great Company idea as I think it´s cool and remains some old/allready charakter (which exists right in my imagination) to my ´Lord Warriors´.

So far for that I think. Please excuse my literal gibberish but it´s hard to put everything in an order if you think of everything nearly at the same time. ^^

So hopefully I can read some replies here soon as I want to improve my own fluff on my marines and thier color scheme.

So C&C is welcome . ^^

P.S.: Fixed the pic-problem.

P.P.S.: As said earlier a Terminator pic, previous paint scheme:

Sorry sorry I've been away for too long :cries:. Great that you've added some updates although in the newest post I can't see the sergeant. I really like the base on the death jester. The ork skin is a bit of a question of what is the commenters personal taste. IMO the recesses dont stand out enough from the muscles, but some ppl I'm sure like it with the way you've done it. the hair of the ork is pretty punk :D. I know the problem with paint strippers, i've used a very strong household cleaner, but i wouldnt suggest it without finding out on some scrap plastic (like from the AoBR frames) does it melt the plastic.

No problem Colonel. ^^ But it is somewhat sad that you are the only one looking at our work. I´m not sure why, but I also can´t see anything in my post...I´ll go back to that later.
In RL the recesses look good, maybe to much flash while making the pic. But thanks for the hint. Lu likes pink and purple therefor she does the orky hair like that, I just hope so, she mentioned something like "gay-orks" not sure if it fits fluff wise but maybe it turns out rather great.

Did another test yesterday in organic chemistry and next week I will do a test in analytic chemistry. And while I learn for this I hardly can afford time for painting and modeling. But to prove that something is done here are some PIP-shots at two of the Termis and a pic of "our little baby" which sidetrackes me more offen than I like sometimes.

Firstly the "baby"

And now back on topic. I like the chapter colors you've got in the older post and the heavy flamer conversion on the termy is looking great. unfortunately they are so PIp that i wouldn't start commenting on the painting yet. gay Orks?!? lol well i guess even orks can have a good fashion eye for the latest trends and clothing in the ork industry! Fluff wise there are no suck things as male-orks and female-orks orks grow from the ground a little like flowers WTF??? But if you've seen the first LOTR than there is that scene where the orks dig out some uruk-hai from the ground.

Well your right, but why should a xenos-fungus-alien-creature not be gay? At least I never read of something like that, but that also means, that there is no reason why it should not exist. ;-)

nice orks man, is your dog a shitzu cause it looks like one......keep up with termis they look pretty good.

(1)Thank you and (2)thank you and yes she is a Shih-Tzu. But she is treated like a little human baby and for the Emperors sake a princess...sometimes we name her the ball-queen (think of those small rubber balls, she is playing with these and even if she has like a dozen of them she knows when one (!) is missing...).

Nice stuff Lu/Pu as always

Thank you, sir.

Well okay, on to the "updates"

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/Cybot/DSC00880.jpg
My up-scaled Cybot, I try to provide painted pics of him soon.

And since the imperial guard is coming out in less than two weeks here is my (I worked more than a year on it now) Chimera nearly completed.
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Imperial%20Guard/Chimera/DSC00923.jpg

Tell me if you are interested in a little tutorial on how to paint your tank like that (Well it is pretty simple but who know´s, eh?), of course with support of pictures.

Other than that I nearly finished a complete Space Marine tac-squad, the Cybot, a "stand-in" Captian and those Terminators all more or less ready.
Sadly my Terminator Librarian can´t be used as he is right now (Termi-armour, force-weapon, power fist)... So either I rebuild him with a stormbolter instead of the power fist, or I have to come up with some nice rules for him...
Anyways with the "new" codex I came up with an idea lately. I will use calgar as my chapter master, of course I will rename him and will give him another background. But I think his rules and stats are just too nice.^^
And other than that I do have a really nice plan on building my own version. :skull: And with him will come an honour guard.

Lu made little progress on her Eldar, the serpent is now useable in games and the war walker is nearly finished. Other than that not much stuff of her reached completion, school isn´t always that easy and life isn´t fair....
(not that I would complain about my life as a servant of the holy Emperor...)

Lately we came to play a "little" 40k match, Lu&Pu (Lu with 1000Pts Eldar, Pu with 1000Pts SM + Imps) against an old classmate (1000Pts Chaos "Word Bearers") and his cousin (1000Pts Tau out of my collection).
Was a funny game and since it was one of Lu´s first games ever played I think a draw was a real good outcome.

Okay, thats it lets see when I come around to upload the newest pic´s.

Till then.

Edit: Next time I will re-size my pic´s...

Well as said before here are more pics some of the cybot (okay, should be called dreadnaught in english but I like our "german version" of its name a bit more), and while I was making some shots, I also made some of the "normal" guys. ;-)

And last but not least (you know) a quick troop shot of the Terminators
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/terminatoren/DSC00999.jpg

My aim for this was to generate the AoBR box contents (SM part of it) as an upscaled army. Only thing to do is some detail work and some more highlighting other than that they are ready.

See next post for conclusion of this update...

...continued.

So my next aim is to convert/upscale/repaint this lot here:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/DSC00988.jpg

Wish me luck with this...

And while I was reading through the current SM codex I came up with an idea.
Guess what this will be when it is ready?
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/HQ/DSC00991.jpg

And last thing for this update is a question to you guys:
http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/HQ/DSC00997.jpg

He is finally ready and undercoated, now I know I can´t legally use him (no powerfists allowed for Terminator Librarians) but never-the-less I want to paint him.
Should I go fopr the usuall blue armour - shoulderpad legion symbol thing or should I paint the armour concerning to the legion (order) and an arm librarian-like??

Well see you next time.

Don´t ask how my former Guard looked like. ^^ Maybe I upload some pics of them sooner or later just for comparison.
GSing right now on my version of Calgar, the pose I aim for is related to the one of Calgar on the cover of 4th edition SM Codex. In my case he will stand on a traitor and will, if I can manage and sculpt it, hold the traitors head instant of a "gaunt" head.

Still no ideas for the Librarian...

Hello again, sorry for the lack of updates RL issues you know...

But nethertheless managed to do some things.

Just startet work on this thing:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/Fahrzeuge/DSC01044.jpg

Huge pelt on Land Raider, and I´m thinking of scratchbuild a templar cross to build on the front door .... ah you will see when I get to manage it. ^^

And the Librarian got some paint on his armour and such:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/HQ/DSC01036.jpg

Some things to do though like highlighting the silver on his weapon and getting ready with the little shield on his shoulderpad.
Though I´m pretty much happy with his face even had a try on his eyes. ^^

Last but not least for this update WIP on my Calgar:

And They are still Lus Orks so whatever she has in mind for them. (add a small laughing in here)

Okay now onto my masterplan for my marines.

"Calgar" with termi-armour 265

Hounorguard (6) with chapterstandard 245

Land Raider 250

Dreadnought with additional armour 120

Ironclad Dreadnought with chainfist 135

SM Tac Squad (10) with flamer and rocket launcher 170

SM Tac Squad (10) with flamer and rocket launcher 170

Scout Squad with sniper rifles 75

Rhino/Drop Pod 35

Rhino/Drop Pod 35

Comes up to 1500 points.

What do you think of it?

This list would give me a guide after which I could built and convert my army bit by bit.

Not whether to use Rhinos or Drop Pods. Rhinos would work well with the Raider, since they could provide extra cover.

Please tell me what you think.
C&C is welcom, you know. ;-)

First two Marines of the second Marine squad:

Is the pose of the second one good or does it look a bit weird or so?

And know onto some thought of mine, well actual two thoughts.

First one:

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/Diorama/DSC01063.jpg

Yes, decided to do a little diorama I will use the SM squad I convert now and the Ironclad to come up (still stripping it in paintcleaner).
(Ironclad is inspired by the dreadnought made by ´the damned artificer´)

Second, concerning the army list above I thought of leaving the additional plating off of the dread and using at least a plasmacannon in one of the SM squads. Good idea?

C&C welcome.

Cheers

PS: Pics are extra-blurry today, light wasn´t good...

Great color sheme of your marines. And tell Lu that her Eldar are also fantastic!
The color sheme is like my painted Farseer :D
Keep up the good work

PS: Echt geile Arbeit bis jetzt, freu mich schon auf neues

Excellent Marines, Pu! I like the color of red you use, it looks very nice on those Marines. :D Good luck with the Diorama!

That army list looks pretty good. I'd say go with Rhinos, so that, once your Marines are holding objectives, they can be used as shields to absorb enemy fire. Plus the Rhino is fun to build, IMOP.

Thanks for the red recipe, Pu! I liked both reds, but the older one was my favorite.

Lol, that web comic is funny! There's a reason a Chaplain is my HQ! :D

You are a genius!

I have spent a week looking for a good pillar, with no luck what so ever, and then you show up with a truly awesome, easy to acquire parts for conversion.

I hope you don't mind but I feel compelled to say this conversion is very much to be copied soon.

Thank you for your comments guys, though didn´t managed to get much done nor did I manage to post "tomorrow" so the day after said tomorrow has to do which is fortunatly today.

Yeah, the old one still looks nice to me, but somehow it is kind of embarrassing that there is only one layer of red over black...
And yes the web comic is ace, sadly it is not my work so all kudos to the guy who made it.

At first I thought "huh? whats is wrong now..." then I read your follwoing sentences. ^^
You´re welcome to copie my efford. It is in deed easy to achieve:
you will need a lip-stick cap (one of those caring/foster ones), a good amount of PVA, double sided cellotape and toothpicks. For the ends of the pillar you´ll likely use foamboard. And thats it. I even thought of casting this pillar, though haven´t done that yet.

Lu, (and mabye Pu), i love you.

Well why not. ^^ But keep in mind as a Marine I´ll fight till death and beyond for my sacred and holy relics (in this for Lu). =P

Thanks, guess whats coming, at least one more dread which will be part of the diorama.

Okay lets move on to the piccy side of this post and make it a real update.

The ground with all holes cut out, but will reinforce it with a second foamboard plate.

http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/jj171/LuPu_photo/Space%20Marines/Diorama/DSC01069.jpg

The two SMs laying next to the dio-base are the Sergeant (left) and a normal Marine. Sergeant will stand in the lower left hole, the normal Marine thus in the upper left one.

The Dread in there is just for comparison.
When I´m done with this groundwork I will move onto the bases and then I will upscale the rest of the squad.
Calgar has gone a little step further too Bolters on his fists are ready they just need to get their ammofeed. But I thought that this wasn´t enough for a piccy update.

What do you think of it? C&C please. ^^
I´m sure I will get some more work on this done this weekend though I´m not to sure on getting this updated before saturday evening since Lu is laying a siege to my PC while playing girly games.
But we will see, hope dies last one says.

On a side note I colored Lus hair yesterday that was somehow really weird...I hope I don´t have to do this again in the near future.

Cheers

Hey guys thanks for your replies. I appreciate them.
Though I´m very sorry for not updating that long I need to say that this will be a rather wordy update. But first some answers for you.

Well terrain is on hold for a while, requires many time and one or two deep thoughts to get on with it again. Though thank you. ;-)
Maybe (no promiss at all!) I´ll take a look at it in a near future.

Yes there will be a dread/cybot involved but not this one. ;-)
The dread I will built is based on the chaos dread (metal beast...=( ) and on the idea ´the damned artificer´ had with his. Though I´m still stripping him and I need a new base to built the stairs on...
That pillar came to my mind when I was thinking of how to build one and somehow I think it is indeed a really nice idea. =D

Since you both asked about Lus hair...no their will be no pics of it. though it was a pain to do. And no, no citadel dye, something called "Töpfchenfarbe" like something like watercolor for your hair. It somehow washes out more and more everytime you wash your hair.

Now onto the wordy update.
Got some stuff done, though not as much as I wanted.
Dio-base is nearly finished on the building front, even gave it the stoneplate cuts. 8 out of 10 of the normal marine bases are ready, dreadbase is on a wait till I purchased a 60mm base. Two bases still to built one with a part of a stair. The one running marine (which layed next to the dio-base) is based but still not ready, he lacks some granates and holster.
And I have some problems with the plasmacannon for the troop, it is an old one so made out of metal. This will require more work than I wanted it to be, I still remember its first assemble...that was a real pain.

I try to get more stuff done, cutting those bases was really time consuming (cutting little plates 2cm x 3cm), drawing lines where they need to be on the base, glue the plates on, cut of the excess. ^^ Somewhen in the future I will get some og these bases casted, this will make things easier for me. ^^

Gefälligkeiten soll man schließlich erwiedern. Bezüglich Chaos...naja, man muss doch wissen wie der Erzfeind aussieht. O.o

Thanks for reading and even though there are no pics this time, C&C is welcome you.

Which rube rated this log with 3 circles?
This person must be a fool, because this log is great.

Wow, that looks excellent, even in if its not complete! The poses of the Marines makes me actually think they are fighting a battle somewhere.

Thank you. That is very kind of you. ^^
But maybe one rated this log that "bad" because I don´t update it that regularly.

Thank you too. Though the diorama has seen some mor work it has not been enough for a picci uodate. So sorry for that.

It was actually my intetion to let the diorame look like the Marines would battle someone right in the moment. ^^

As I said hadn´t done all that much in the last weeks so sorry.
Though two Marines would be nearly ready to see some paint. They just need their bags, holster and some grenades.

Okay so far for that. Maybe I have some pics next time. ^^

@Txan
I would really like to do so but I´m not able to do so...you know the Inquisition and stuff....*hiding in the shadows*

@Mr Kibbles
Thank you good old boy.

Okay guys now onto something not all that good to hear for you, at least I think so.

I will stop this. I am not sure how long or if I will ever return to this log.

I just began my new work and though it is great it is consuming a not all that small part of my RL.
Moreover there are RL issues especially private ones that cause me to stop this. At least for now. As I said, I don´t know if I will ever return to this.
I lost something special and important and ah well...

I hope to post here again in any future time.

Sorry guys I really feel a bit guilty.

See you somewhen, somehow, somewhere. ;-)

Bye

This sucks, sorry to hear that. I liked this thread and its charming randomness a lot. Also I would have loved to see the diorama finished.
I hope you get the crap, whatever it is, sorted out for good.
