A 'balanced' character/warband depends on what your rival warbands use. If everyone's Inquisitor is running around with with bolters, power weapons and carapace armour you'll need something to match that.

Also remember when making warbands Inquisitor isn't about 'winning' it's about the narative and making a 'cool' scenerio/campaign.

thnx talos, my regular opponeant has a marine, but i dont think we`d be playing much as hes all over the place (traveling wise) so im not really worried about keeping up in game terms too much (though it would be preferable). in relation to the narrative side of it i really want the theme of wanted inquisitor. ive been toying with having his background something along the lines of having my inquisitor framed for something (an iligitimate exterminatus, perhaps on a marine homeworld, which would fit nicely) and has to go on the run while trying to clear his name and catch the guy who framed him, this would of course force him to band with various `shady` figures...

do you have any suggestions for anyone you feel would fit this background?

I think the hood is no longer available but I'm not sure.

The eldar ranger allegedly comes with the expansion pack (i.e. hooded head, different backpack and arms).

i hope it does cos it would be rather silly, having to rely on people being able `green stuffers`. that said, i do plan to convert my warband (who wouldnt!) and i think the ranger is too cool not to get, even if i dont get to use him as a member, just a gm controlled `guy`(xeno scum). thnx for the suggestions etc....
