Ok...so I've never used Green Stuff Before...and I have no "real" sculpting tools.... so bare with me as I stumble along in making some stuff.

The Ork Truck was just something I started the other night while watching TV...it's supposed to be like a Gun Truck from the Apoc book...though I still have to add a gun...driver...crew..and some more details. I
ll prolly sell the Ork truck..or give it to one of Orc playing friends. I could make Orc vehicles all day..they're pretty funs to make.

the Plague Reaper is for my Death Guard army I'm massing right now. Again..I have never used Green Stuff. More details etc are planned. I hope to update this often...the plague reaper and my Warhound titan I'm building are my two priorities right now.

CC is welcome, please

the Giant has magnetized arms so I can put different weapons on him......he will actually be the side mounted Laz cannons or what ever else I can make to go on his arms. I have one hand that has a Standard...2 with laz cannons....and am making more. I need to fatten him up at the base....I assume I can put GS on dried GS...IE go back an add more? I hope I can. I need to get some sculpting tools too....anyone recommend any? Plus a slew of other things I'd like to add etc

Those are actually Legos..if you search Ebay for "Lego Tubes" or "Lego Hoses" you should find some. There's several different sizes etc...but they all work fairly well...and are usually fairly cheap. like these...

Are those GiJoe/Cobra tracks you have used on the Ork trukk? I can`t remember the Cobra tank`s name but it had 3 huge missiles mounted on the back of it.
The plague-reaper is coming along nicely! Sculpting tools wise (on a budget) try tooth picks, good for small dots (nurgle pox marks) and babybuds/Q-tips with the fluffy ends dipped in superglue, forms a hard surface that makes neat indent marks for burst pimples and boils (it`s nurgle). For making the big pimples and boils try some of tamiya`s 1/35 and 1/48 scale german helmets. Glue them on and then build up some GS around them to cover the bottom rims. For fungus growth you could use Woodland Scenics turf and foliage range, superglue it to areas of a model, coat with a base colour and then drybrush it up....instant fungus colony. Try and get a a mix of sizes, say coarse (big), medium and fine put them in a container/jar (put the lid on!) and shake it up. It`ll give you some variety in the sizes of indvidual members of your fungus community.
Keep up the great work on the Plague-reaper, looking forward to more progress pics:D

Thanks for the comments folks and thank you kiwichild for those tips! I will have to look into doing that.

the tracks on the Ork Gun Truck are from an old GI-Joe tank...I think it was a cobra maggot though..not the one with the 3 missles...though I do have those treads laying around too. Maybe I'll make another Ork truck out of those next.

Yeap the maggot, that`s the one!:D I`m heading back to NZ in august so I`ll grab those maggot tracks and the tracks off a Hiss-2 out of my old `Toy-Box`. By the way they`re not toys anymore, they are collectible childhood interests.:p
They`ll be awesome track units for some Genestealer Cult transports, cheers for the inspiration projectkmo!:D There was also a range of small Gi-Joe tanks (single figure thingees), they`ll be cannibalised too.

Back on subject (GW), have you thought about doing some `heavy` GS work from the giant heads into the torso. I`m thinking `large individuals` (sumo wrestlers) have little or no necks. Maybe sculpt some extra chins onto the heads and then blend them into the torso. Perhaps sagging under-arm muscles (tyranid venom cannon/devourer ammo bitz) they`ll make nice ammo/power supply for handguns or closecombat weapons? Alittle PVA mixed with super glue or very old superglue (leave the cap off for about 30mins) can make nice mucus/snot. Wow that`s gross, but it`s nurgle. :cheese:
Good luck.

Here`s a pic of the Woodland scenics-fungus colony idea

This is the `old` superglue idea, I used it to represent a nurglelord with a bladder control problem

I'll have to take some pictures of my Bits boxes...there is quite a lot....tons of old gutted GI-Joe stuff, Star Wars stuff and lots of old 1/35 scale model bits.

I was thinking...concerning the plague reaper... thst rather than have the usual Tanks of rotting death that hang down....that maybe I could do the opposite....

like the Bacta tank from The Empire Strikes Back...that Luke was in...on Hoth... in the medical bay...

Have some bodies floating inside them....the tanks going more "UP" than hanging down like the traditional vats of filth...

I msy have to mock something up and take some pics to see what you folks think.'

yeah, apparently she got it for free from a friend that owned a comic store years ago....seems no one wanted to buy it.... wonder why?!?!

So it should make a decent terrain piece...maybe for a city fight or something...a nice center piece for like a city square or something....so chaos infested city...or hive etc.

Nothing could make that statue better... *shivers at the thought*
maybe you could try and make it worse;)

The plague reaper is beautiful, nice use for the lego on the giants back there.
you might want to try and make it look like the 'nid carapaces are actually PART of the tank though (right now they look like awesome extra armour)

I'm watching this thread:cool:

MAybe you could take it outside and throw rocks at it, shoot it up a bit. Then bury the remains for a year, if you remember it's there and still want to use it, it may have improved.

And the plague reaper is the best chaos baneblade I've seen so far. And I absolutly don't need one.

I think it is usable as a terrain piece. Cut the ugly bat off it. Paint the statue with copper paint and treat it with that acid that turns it green. I wouldn't paint the stone base part, that looks good as is.

19-03-2008, 06:09
Yeah, it's atrocious. Having said that..

We can make it better!

First, break the head off, or chisel it down and deface it a bit.

Chip it here and there, then paint the chipped areas as exposed marble or something.

Completely repaint the cape/shawls utterly asstastic trim, then weather it down a bit.

Snap a wing off that.. thing.. on her arm and repeat the second step.

Should make it a bit more.. usable.

Is that the stock paint job it comes with? If so, I would just weather it. I would also keep it generic looking as far as markings. That way you can use it for multiple armies. Maybe you can make up some army icons on magnets and switch them out as needed.

Fraid I don't have much in the way of progression on my Army. I've been catching up on some School work and other RL stuff.... also... I've been reading Legion...which is an awesome book so far.

I picked up some more Plague Marines and some Termies on the cheap......though they are gonna require a bath in the ole simple green and some scrubbing..... I'm trying to keep my army entirely metal...at least with the marines....the Termies will be both...as will the dreadnaughts and other armor.

anyway here are the new additions along with my Bag of Nurgle Marines yet to be built.

new acquisitions awaiting their simple green bath
