i didnt buy the original cityfight but how useful was that once 4th ed. came out?i understand some people still use eye of terror but i was just wondering how relevant both books would be once 5th hit the shelves.

Both books were written to stay compatible with any core system. Apocalypse in particular is good at this, as it merely refers to the main rulebook for things. Means the main rulebook can change and Apocalypse self-adapts.

Cities of Death is likely to be an integral part of the main rulebook.

And there are hardly any rules in Apocalypse, so can't see why that should be a problem :p

City of death is mainly strategems, so perhaps some might become pointless, but the rest will be fine. Missions will still work, but perhaps a little houserule is needed (like everything can score) to maintain balance. Time will tell.

Apoc is just throwing everything on the table and kill one another. Which rules you use for the killing bit doesn't matter. Here the new scoring system actually works better then current Apoc, as noone shoots Troops in current apoc. At least, I don't.

I think that the strategems and missions will continue to be playable, I'm not sure about the specific city fight rules but I don't have the book with me though.

Aren't the only City of Death rules
-template usage in multi-storey buildings
-moving between storeys
These rules better well be in the main rulebook, as we've been playing it like that ever since, regardless of it being an actual cityfight or not :)
