Given the enemys i would say the first one will be better

Personally, I'd drop an organ gun, finish off the runes on your heroes, get a regular eng. for the first bolt thrower, and put the M.Eng. w/ the remaining OG. You'll need the extra spellbreaking rune IMO.

why do you need rune of luck on the master engineer with the grudge thrower? I don't think it allows you to reroll the scatter die

I intend to put him in close proximity to a Bolt Thrower as well. So two rerolls at 3+ to hit at long range.

You can't reroll a reroll IIRC, or that could be from another game, but I was thinking it was Warhammer.

Anyway, 2 bolt throwers > 1 grudge thrower IMO, cost being the only other issue. Seeing as how you can't shoot something you can't see, and BTs are LOS... Plus I've just had more luck with BTs in my old O&G days.

Why do people make armies like these?

They're neither fun to play, nor fun to play against – not because it would win either, my
chaos cavalry would totally cream this.

Where's the tactics, the maneuvering, all that which you as a player has any influence on. You just set up your army and count on lady luck to let you win.

– and I'd go for the Grudge Thrower, just for the fake sense of versatility ;)

I have to agree with The Red Scourge on this one. And NO you can not reroll a reroll, that and if he joins one warmachine crew (which he does automatically if he comes within 1") he can not benefit any other machines. If it were me entering the tournament I would not take either list, as it will probably be dead turn 2.
