For the first list you can't have more than 1 magical item (Calaingor’s Stave), and I'd split the waywatchers into two units of 5.

I like the second army more.

does eternal kindred work with great weapon?

no eternal kindred only works if you give it eternal kindred weapons which are defaul with that kindred.

i would go for the first list, swap items on the mage to make it legal, deepwood sphere is very similar to the stave anyway, have 3 units of 10 GG not 2 of 15, makes it more flexable. also split the waywatchers into 2 units of 5 as you dont need to worry about the other rare choice.

i would personally make it 3 units of wild riders, and the points you save for the extra 5 riders (minus standard for the new 3rd unit) i would buy more dryads so you can purchase 2 units of 8.
so like this:

1st army list

Lords and Heroes
Wood Elf Highborn
Gear: Alter Kindred
Bow of Loren
Arcane Bodkins
Amarantine’s Brooch
Total Cost: 275

Spell singer
Gear: Lvl 2 wizard
Calaingor’s Stave

hope this helps

well if you go with what anarnii said the list would be better, but your missing out on the most importan part of the woodelf army, fleeing. Yes you do have 2 units of WW, but they have better things to do then march block and bait (such as warmachine hunting). GG aren't effective at this because they are not even ment to see the light of combat. What you need is a GE and some GR (preferbly both) or even warhawk riders. since your special slots are filled warhawks arent an option be the other two are.

you could drop the ww but 2 units could prove to be effective, really dictate where an opponent might place his cannon (if he knows you have them, if not well a big surprise!). the next option is to drop the GG, I feel 2 is good, plus 3 it is hard to keep firing lanes open... Drop a unit of them for some GR with musc if you have the points. now because WE are all about redudency I would let one of your waywatchers be on march block and flee duty as well because you have 2. You could drop one for another one to make 6 in one unit, and get an eagle. As I said earlier though I can see the advantage of 2 units.

Finally your charcter setup. Its not bad its just your lord is not protected. Try and get him stone of crystal mere or glamourweave. you have 4DD and no scrolls. An archmage scroll cady would have a field day with you. Drop the deep wood sphere and the level 2 and get 2 scroll. I would try and fit another one. If you did drop the other unit of ww and get the eagle then you should have enought to do all I stated above, plus you would have a flyer which I think every army should have atleast one of.

I could comment on the second list but, I feel the first one is better.

Your points are off for your wild riders are off on your last posted lists. A unit of five with full command is 166 points, and 148 without a champion. I would go for the first list though.

My vote is still for the second list...

your lists in general lack magic defense still...especially the first one. Make the second one a scroll caddie (2 scrolls) and the second one a scroll with and make him a lvl 2. That will cost you 85 points so to get it drop all but the musc on the GR, it isnt needed in the first place it is a waste of points. Also if you drop 2 GR so they are only 5 it is better. 7 is not manuverable and since that are what they are ment for they should be 5, that is 84 points. If you drop 3 dryads so they are 10 (same reason as GR, not very effecient) you have enough points to get the scrolls and the level, plus a GW, LA, and Shield for the highborn, he will need it for protection and so he can deal damage.

As for the second list give the highborn a spear, so he is better on the charge. Also drop the enchanted shield and get the helm of the hunt and glamourweave. Helm because then he has 5 s5 attacks on the charge plus the dragon with the re-rolls from reaper. Then the glamourweave to protect your rider and the dragon. I would reccomend making the mage a caddy, it is low on defense again. The noble is fine and drop the champ from the GG yet again waste of points. Also you need a 4th core so drop the WW for some dryads and then get an eagle.

Overall each list is pretty good and I would take the first, but I dont like dragons so that is proably why, plus the first one has better magic defense and offense.

thanks for all the advice warhawk, yah i noticed the lack of magic defense my self, but my main opponents are only really Chaos Khorne, and bretonnians so not much magic to worry about, though i would probably be at the mercy of a heavy magic list.....

Also, why do i need 4 core choices? the army book jut says at 2000 points u need 3+, and the things like the Lords Bowman have kind of just been put in as point fillers

Anyways here are the revised lists, thanks for any more input

Good then, thanks you guys for all your help, despite the majority of people saying they like the first list more, the more ive thought about it, i really want to do the second, simply for the dragon, ive come up with what i think is a great conversion idea, so im going to go with that.
