I`m makeing a list for my friend and wonderd if it is wise to take 3*10 glade guard or something. need some help on other stuff as well.

I wouldn't take magic because the 2 free dispel dice make such a huge impact.

Probably glade riders would be the better way to go so you can run around and avoid combat. (should be easy at this size)

I'd drop the musicians too, though they could be handy if you plan on fleeing a charge and rallying. anyway, I never use them for my archers.

should I put some dryads in there to? have a feeling that they would do lots of damage (will be playing against high elves)

I would use two units of Glade Riders as Malarion said and drop the scouts and pick up a unit of dryads. Just for a quick Idea I would probably go with something like this.

Noble-Alter Kindred, Hail of Doom, Helm of the Hunt, Light Armour, Sheild, GW - 154(IIRC)
5 Glade Riders - 120
5 Glade Riders - 120
9 Dryads - 108
8 Dryads - 96
Great Eagle - 50
Total - 648

If you are playing an army that has "heavy magic" (one level 2 at most at this points). Hail of Doom the unit hes in, then take 10 shots from your Glade Riders into him and charge the eagle in with the Glade Riders. That unit should go poof with the Mage.

I think the list would work ok. If you drop the one Dryad from the unit of 9 you could get a musician for one the Glade Rider units, would be handy if you need to bait and flee.

thanks for the help but my friend only got 8 glade riders xD, but we could find something to replace that of course. :D

If you like scouts then take waywatchers instead, they are much better value point for point. Drop the eagle. Alter nobles can't be the general, but I would go for a normal noble with GW LA Shield. Take the helm of the hunt and HOD with him. 2 Units of 10 Glade guard should be ample. Fill out the rest with either dryads or Wardancers, depending on your preference. Then take 5 Waywatchers as your rare choice. If you can be persuaded to then drop the waywatchers altogether, go back to the eagle and more dryad/wardancers.

8 Wardancers (Musician) 151pts
5 Waywatchers 120pts

I like the list, but.....would it be wise to swap the wardancers for glade riders?

You could swap GR for Wardancers, but they lack the hitting power and durability of WD. They are more manouverable though. If you like running around your enemy peppering him with arrows the GR work better, IF you awant at least 1 combat unit then keep the Wardancers. If you want fast Cav, think about wild riders, swap them for the wardancers as they can hit pretty hard, but can't flee from charges.

wild riders...hmmm. they also get fear at the charge so that could be usefull.and they got spears to. I`ll talk to my friend and see what he would like in his army.

damned... forgot to tell that we are gonna play woodland ambush..doh.
guess the units would`nt matter

I think that waywatchers are too expensive at this point level, them with the character is almost half your points. I would take 5 scouts, same at this point level, there aren't going to be too many things you're going to want to KB at this point level anyways. That will save you 35 points, enough to mount your noble. Then I would drop a unit of GG get a unit of GR in their place. The noble could go with the GR and with the WD unit break pretty much anything. If you have any points left over get a spear for the noble and boost the GG up some.
