Hello everyone,
This is pretty much a standard introduction; I've been lurking for a while and posted a couple times but I have come to the conclusion that if I start posting here, I'll be obligated to finish my project.

My project is to make a Necromunda-scale game of 40k with a number of different gangs that my roommates and myself can play against each other with. Sure, that means that it's basically 1 unit per player but they're all impatient and can't play anything for more than 40 min ;) I'll be posting the following units:

Enforcers, Redemptionists, Orlock Gang, Delaque Gang, Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarri, an Inquisitor and Bodyguard, a bunch of Tyranids, and the board we play on.

So with that I'll put up my first photo, my one and only Space Marine, a Deathwatch marine whose under employment of the Inquisitor as a scale shot against an Inquisitorial Bodyguard (aka Vostroyan):

Very nice truescale marine, although the greaves look somewhat clunky. Eager to see where this goes.

Thanks Iron Duke! Any feedback is definitely appreciated.
I see what you mean about the greaves, I'm going to need to go back and shape him up a little and put some detailing in his chest. I tried to copy synapse's design as best as possible since his marines look so, well, "true-scale". With all that art showing marines ten feet tall in armor that is two sizes too big for them, it just makes them look like demi-gods among men, which is what I always pictured them as being. So much so, that I might end up making one more marine....you know, the Inquisitor needs good protection...

Everything is pretty WIP, at least until I finally paint it. And with that I'll add some pictures of the Redemptionists

Thats a really great start mate, loving the redemtionists, and playing spot the bitz :D

The chain feed shotguns are a fav for me.

Keep it up.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the comments.
@ Sheep: yeah, basically that's all you'll be doing with me. I can't really sculpt all that well so being creative with bits is my best bet. :D
Speaking of which, I got my Inquisitor's bodyguard together and based them. They're all Vostroyans (the Inquisitor looks Russian, so the bodyguard looks good with him), which I think make much better Inquisitorial storm troopers than just guardsmen.

I just took one shot since they're all basically unconverted, except the heavy bolter guy who I had to resculpt his hat after I removed it in attempt to make a hood...

Here's pics of the Inquisitor and retinue to go with the Vostroyans

Next, I'll probably post a couple pics of the Orlocks, Delaque, and Enforcers, along with some mercenaries, and then my Adeptus Mechanicus patrol

Beautiful stuff. I particularly like the inquisitor and his retinue and also the preacher conversion with the scythe. Great stuff.

Time to add some new pics of a couple different things I'm working on:

First, a couple possible members for my Inquisitor, or something else completely
http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t85/cdaws08/002-2.jpg

Some "Sewer Rats". I basically made them to be hireable guns for necromunda so I'll end up using them in a similiar way, just with 40k and points instead.

And some objective markers

I love the models. I'd suggest using the inquisitor rules at 40k scale, this means 3-4 models per side and everything is based around the 'average' human, so marines are real monsters. The rules are free too. I play inquisitor at 40k scale the depth of the rules is fantastic and allows you to use all those odd and random models you have lying around if you've been gaming for some time (in my case almost 17years). Looking forwards to see what else you have...

That's a really good idea but unforunately my roommates would never stand for it. I already had a hell of a time trying to use Necromunda rules. I dumbed them down towards a 40k style but then that created more problems and unforeseen complications and we haven't played much since because the games last too long for them. Soooooo in the meantime I'm trying to get everything built and painted so they'll be more interested and just play with 40k rules. It'll end up being one squad per player (which includes the enforcers, orlocks, and delaque that I've neglected to put up) with 4 players total, so games won't be extravangantly long (longer than 40 min...).
Eventually I'll need to find some guys who are interested enough to make their own forces, and maybe then I can move onto bigger and better things. Until then I'm happy converting :D

There's some really cool stuff you've got here; it's hard to say which I like best - that awesome True Scale Marine; the wicked Vostroyan Heavy Bolter conversion; those Zealot conversions; the Inquisition retinue, it's all fantastic! Great work, I will very much look forward to seeing these gangs get painted :)

Thanks guys! I appreciate all the feedback a ton!
Here's the leader of my Redemptionists, with a sentry turret, and a pilot:
http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t85/cdaws08/003-2.jpg

Also for my Redemptionists, I made some flayerkin-esque models, but I'm unsure of where to go with them. Do I jack them up and make them look more like arco-flagellants, or do I leave them as is as some kind of "low-tech" arco-flagellation?
http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t85/cdaws08/004-2.jpg

As always, comments and advice are very welcome. I'm always looking for ways to improve my models

what are the bits for the servitor on the righ tthere?

Cdaws08
13-04-2008, 23:47
The servitor? let's see...the Black Templar cenobyte holy relic bearer (without the holy relic), a space marine scout heavy bolter, an Inquisitor scale Inquisitor Icon :p, a parchment from the new flagellant sprue, and on the back a necron gauss gun with a cord from a powerfist connected to it. I can put up a photo of the back if you'd like.

the 2 new ones are ace man. seriously. win.

15-04-2008, 19:24
Ohhhh, the servo skull. Sorry about that. That's made out of two servo skulls (both versions from the SM devastator sprue) with the tubes removed from the one without the halo, an IG vox caster piece, the new flagellants book, and some random tubing that I cut from different models. But that's pretty much it for that thing

The Iron Duke
15-04-2008, 20:01
sweet pit slaves - cool use of the chaos warriors. the pilot has a very characterful pose. i agree with zealot: a bit of crude wiring, perhaps from the helmets into the spinal column, would look cool on the "arco-flagellants," as if the redemptionists had heard of arcoflagellants and were making their own, low-tech versions.

ok so the book's in the flagellants. nice im already plannin on grabbin a box of them to finish out my zealot mobs...

still tho really nice and keep it up. its nice to see all the ad mech stuff poppin up at once on here.

Honestly I have no clue, why their are only a few replies after each post of yours. These are amazing conversions, Cdaws. I think all these models, are such clever uses of bits and spare parts, I could never scavenge so many and put them together. Please keep 'em coming. BTW what rules will you be using for your force, I'm guessing the Redemptionists will be INQ Stormtroopers...? What about the two Deathwatch marines? Grey Knights, but then they would have to be branched out to 5 at least.

Cdaws08
16-04-2008, 02:41
Thanks a lot Illuminator! I'm not sure why I don't get much response; I do have Iron Duke and Zealot faithfully checking my log though :D
Maybe I named the log badly, or I need to start painting, who knows. I really just appreciate the nice comments I get.

The redemptionsists will just use the old zealot rules from one of the US WDs...I'll have to look up the number, but basically they're guardsmen with weaker saves and a rule that makes it easier to pass morale tests as more units die off, which is pretty cool. That, and they can get eviscerators.
I will count the Deathwatch marines as Grey Knights, but I'm not sure where I'm going to end up going with all of this. I have 4 gangs, a space marine and a half, an inquisitor, some vostroyans, yet unfinished skitarii squad, and a bunch of random guys. I plan on mostly using the 40k rules for the units...just not following the restrictions so that I can play a more characterful small scale sort of game.
For instance, my roommates and I each have our own gang and we'll play some random scenario with an objective like "hold the generator" or "protect the techpriest on his route", something like that. Welllll, my brother had a bunch of unpainted Tyranids that I inherited, and after buying a Carnifex I have about 500 points of bugs, so in came the inquisitor and retinue, vostroyans (count as inquisitorial storm troopers for the big guy) and someone who can tangle with a carnifex.....hmmmm, then synapse's truescale marines hit me-> and I had to build some true scale marines to balance the table, and the ultimate war for the apartment was set.

Well, that was a long story so I think you guys deserve some pictures to go with that rant.

These are really nice conversions, I'm thinking that they could be used as Marauder type units for the upcoming Hordes of Chaos book.

Cdaws08, I think that I am like you and love the converting and modelling aspects of the hobby more. Keep up the good work!

I really like what you've done with the balsa wood floor there, it improves the scenery 100% Are you using preacher Josef as a statue? Even so it would make excellent Inquisitor terrain too so a double thumbs up from me.

Yeah, the preacher is the centerhead of the church. You can see that he survived relatively intact after that church blew up. A work of the Emperor?
Thanks man!

I am definitely happy to hear that! I'm thinking that marine might end up a bit different if I make a couple more to go with him. Being that his main purpose to battle Tyranids I'm not sure how many more I should make, but they're so cool looking
