Hello everybody!
Lately i've been more and more drawn into citadel vintage stuff - maybe it's the new GW tendence of redoin good ol' classics, maybe it's the spring, maybe it's that i've just discovered e bay... :D - Anyway, lookin' at the solegend's catalogues, at the ol' blisters on ebay and stuff, i am having really nice memories from my young age ... am i alone or there's a bunch of nostalgics out there that has a vibe similar to mine?
So i would like to propose to all you old fanboys out there, to you that get a shiver from the original dragonogre conversion with an eagle on his wrist, from a chaos squat in exo armour or from the wood elf bear handler, the following - why don't we post some pics of our vintage models all in one place?
I myself have set on the project of building a small fantasy chaos mortal army all (or mostly) done from classic metal models - i've just started to paint my first centaur and, man! Didn't get so much pleasure from painting since a long time! So - let's do this guys! I'll try to post pics as often as i can, but i think that it would be great to have a contribute from anyone that thinks that old skool was, indeed, kool!
Let me know what u all think about this!
Cheers!

I think it is a fine idea. Whats not to like about vintage minis.

These are the oldest thing I have painted recently.

They are the plastic Dwarves from the original fantasy plastic set.

This is a vintage Perry Dwarf. The champion and musician are also vintage Perry sculpts form citadel miniatures.

This is one of the oldest minis I have, a "Dead Men from Dunharrow" Lord of the Rings mini, from last time Citadel had the LotR franchise.

Those plastic dwarfs look ace! I'm sure the paintjob helps, but the models are quite good as well.
I have an old Space Marine and Assassin from when GW did Skullz. I might paint those up for this thread...

Heh... I said ass... Twice!

What a very nice idea this thread is.

I currently work on a Ork army which will only have models from 1987-1994 but so far I almost excusively have painted miniatures around 1994 so they are hardly "vintage" I'm afraid.

So I'm posting the only model of my small "old Chaos" collection I started painting:

He's basically that one miniature I use as a guinea pig for trying out new stuff.

Nostalgia! which is odd seeing I was a glint in the milkmans eyes when many of these models where produced... hmm.

lovely gold on the chaos!
