Bretonnian 2000 points

After a long sabbatical from wargaming I am returning to the half finished (well finished and then ebayed, it’s a long story) bretonnians. This is intended as a hammer and anvil type army with a mixed of foot and cav, not really a tournament army.

Heroes (597)

Lord,
Grail Vow, Grail Shield, Virtue of Discipline, Lance of Artois (234)
Rides with KoTR

BSB
Virtue of Duty, Warbanner (129)
Rides with KoTR

Paladin
Empathy, sword of might, Enchanted Shield (100)
Gets down and dirty with the M@A’s, hopefully stopping them from running too soon.

Damsel
Barded Warhorse, 2 Scrolls (of you know what) (134)
Hangs out in a nice safe wood and tries to not get killed for as couple of turns (burning scrolls)

Core (895)

1.8 KoTR, Full Command, (216)

2.8 KoTR, Full Command (216)

3.9 Errant, Full Command, Errantry Banner (246)

4.24 M@A’s, Full Command(147)
Anvil

5.10 Skirmishing Bowmen (70)
Annoyance and table quarter contesters

Special (410)

-Grail Reliquae +13 extra Pilgrims (making US 25) (235)
Big anvil/tar-pit

-3 Pegasus Knights +Musician and free gallant (175)
High points cost yeomen, mage hunters, war-machine killers etc

Rare(90)

Trebuchet (90)

Total points 1992
Models 91 (+treb/crew)

Before anyone says ‘yeomen are useful’ I know, I haven’t got the models…yet.

Lord: Too defensive. Brets are all about the attack. I mine the silver lance the the virtue of the ideal to make him a combat monster, although really you are better off just taking more knights instead.

BSB: Perfect.

Paladin: I'd go for the gromil helm instead of the shield.

Damsel: ok... but don't hide her, put her in with the bowmen to at least give them MR1.

Knights: Good

Men at arms: Ok I guess... since you aren't making it a tournament army.

Bowmen: I like bigger units, but they should be fine with the paladin there.

Grail Rel: Never used it but I can see it working in this army.

Peg knights: I'd drop the musician

Trebuchet: cool

So in general I think it's fine. I'd just modify the characters.

The problem of Virtue of the Ideal is the minus to Ld for all the knight around him. I should have explained his role. to keep the knights together and perform a similar role to the Empathy Paladin. Fend off the worse of VC and Chaos combat monsters for a turn or so and provide Ld 9.

Paladin: I'd go for the gromil helm instead of the shield..

I would too, but +20 points for a re-roll is too much

Thanks for your thoughts though
