Ok, another vampire thread...

You cannot take a magical weapon and a mundane weapon, or at least if you have a magical weapon, you cannot use a mundane weapon.

But does "avatar of death" (with a great weapon, for example) count as a "mundane" choice.

The question really is, can you take say, the sword of kings and avatar of death, in order to get killing blow against man sized things and a great weapon against other things (like treemen).

It's a bloodline power that supplies you with mundane equipment. Equipment that isn't available to the vampire as standard equipment.

So if you have avatar of death and buy sword of kings, you don't benefit from the great weapon unless you somehow lose your magical sword (Vaul's Unmaking f.x.).

It is entirely possible to wield a great weapon and then (via Forbidden Lore) cast Flaming Sword of Rhuin, in which case you must use the Flaming Sword (which should be preferable) until the spell expires somehow. Just an example.

Your second sentence is incorrect.

There is nothing preventing you having a magical weapon AND a mundane weapon, although you must use the magical one if you have it.

Well i did say "or at least if you have a magical weapon, you cannot use a mundane weapon." just in case. So shush.

And thanks for the quick answer, was the one i had assumed would be right, but theres no harm in a little false hope every now and again..."
