I've been looking through forge world online store, and suddenly i cam across death korps of krieg engine filters and trench rails.
could someone tell me wat trench rails are and what they're for?

As far as I am aware they are rails on the back of a tank, placed so it doesn't fall into wide trenches when if drives over them. Basically, it lenghtens the tank.

Yeah, pretty much. It'd really suck to have a Leman Russ get stuck and being unable to help the war effort, simply because it's fallen down a trench.

Indeed, you would feel a bit of a plum telling the commisars...
As other people have pointed out, they are to make sure that the rear of the tank can clear a trench and maintain movement. Though developed primarily for trench warfare, their use had slowly declined along with the evolution of modern warfare.

They have a wonderful secondary use for easing oneself into their trench-bath, or so i'm told...but then, people tell me many things, and most of them are silly...
