Blood Ravens
Salamanders
Death Falcons
Emperor's Hawks
Iron snakes

Not all SM chapters feature an animal or mythical being but quite a few do. These creatures are either from legend of Earth or were once animals on Earth.
Since the newer foundings have homeworlds in distance regions of the galaxy wouldn't it stand to reason to hear of the "Emperor's Smizbakz." ( Well, obviously not something so stupid sounding) as a chapter? Is there a clause that states if a chapter is created and an animal will be in it's name, it must be of Earth?

I'm bored...

The people buying marines are more able to associate with things they are at least vaguely familair with, or that sound cool.

There's no fluff reason (apart for the names being translations from High Gothic to English which isn't able to properly translate such a grand language and thus merely mimicks it on more mudane terms it can cope with).

But seriously, it's the marketing aspect of association.

Well the original chapters were founded on Earth so they have Earth animal names. However there is really no limit to what you name your SM Chapter.
