I don't understand why all of your vampires need to have summon ghouls. The same one can cast it multiple times and you generally only use one dice (because of the +1 to cast).

because those vamps need to do some thing...

you cant share power die any more, thus they would not ba able to rais ghould above starting size!

I've been thinking about getting into WFB, but as stated in another post, I'm on a limited budget.

I was pointed to Ogre Kingdoms as being a good 'cheap' army to go with. However, I've always favored undead in the specialist games with strigoi being a particular favorite (I converted my Mordheim and Bloodbowl vamps to strigoi)

This list looks very doable. The question I have is the nature of Summon Ghouls. Is this list all one would need to run strigoi based army, or is Summon Ghouls like Raise Dead where I would need another large amount of models to the side to summon during play? If it's replenishing lost units, and I can go with something like this, I'm in.

Thanks!

You cant make new units with summon ghouls. The vampire with it gets +1 to cast invocation of nehek. It also lets you make the unit bigger than it started. I plan on having 4 units of ghouls about 25 strong. You can use the list how it is tho and just use summon ghouls for replenishing lost models. Hope that helped.

Athamas got it spot on. I plan on using the vampires to keep my ghoul numbers really high plus having the corpse carts means I could strike first with 11 poisoned attacks plus the vampire attacks.

What do you think the army would find hard to beat?

summon ghouls is a vampiric power that allows you to treet ghoul units like zombies for the purpose of the spell invocation of nehek so that you can raise them above unit strengh however you only get D6 per invocation cast( plus the extra + 1 when casting the spell . you cannot raise new units

the ammount of ghouls you will really want for this list would roughly be 60 to 80 ghouls models

if you want a cheaper (, $) the vampire counts army i would suggest would forgo summoning and focus on more close combat characters and ghoul armys work that way too

That sounds like an even better idea.

Any suggestions on how to spin a variant on this list that won't require summoning, yet be somewhat competitive? It'd be a great place for me to start shopping from.

Thanks!
