i need every1s opinion on a weapon profile for the harlequin's kiss. At the moment my GM says i shuld use it as a dire sword with reach 1. any other ideasA Diresword seems completely the wrong way to go to me. The Harlequin's Kiss is described in one source as follows; 'It takes the form of a sharpened tube attached to the forearm, inside which is lengths of monofilament wire. The Harlequin's Kiss is punched into the enemy and the wires are then quickly uncoiled, slicing the foe apart from the inside'.

Based on that I'd say it should be a two stage weapon - the tube that's punched into the target and the monofilament wire that uncoils inside them. I'd say Reach 1 is right and maybe -30% for it's Parry Penalty. Then I'd give it a fairly low Damage - say D6 or D10 maybe, to represent the effect of the tube. But if it penetrates armour then it does a huge amount of additional damage, perhaps 4D10, as the monofilament wire whips out and turns the victim's insides to soup.

EDIT: Does this mean you have an Inquisitor scale Harlequin? If so, can we see it? I've just about gathered all the bits I need to make my Harlequin, but I've got some other projects to finish first.

illpostpics once my camera works. I used the callidus assassin as my bases model cut off the phases blade and put a bit of brass rod have it a shiriken pistol instead of the shredder and then whent wild with green stuff, making a mask and lost of belts.

how u planning on building one?Based on the limited edition 54mm Wood Elf (http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t286/kaled100/Works%20in%20Progress/bits_wood_elf.jpg).

It could be a while before I get round to her though. I've got a couple of models on the go at the minute (an Administratum Adept and a Naval Stormtrooper), and about 8-10 waiting to be built so it just depends which project takes my fancy next.

Or there's an Eldar lexicon here (http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Eldar_Lexicon) which might help with inspiration. I'm not an espert on Eldar names I'm afraid - I tend to borrow ones from books etc.

BTW - you never said, but what did you & your GM think of my idea for the Harlequin's Kiss rules? Are they the sort of thing you had in mind?

iv had a game now using the rules u suggested. the harlequin took down 3 guard vets with only taking minor damage to a leg.

next point, wich force field should she have? i personally use the conversion field

next point, wich force field should she have? i personally use the conversion fieldPersonally I wouldn't use a conversion field. IIRC the Harlequin's suit is designed to fragment his image more the faster he moves making him a lot harder to hit. It doesn't give off a bust of light like a conversion field, or stop incoming shots in any way. There are already penalties for shooting at a moving target, so I'd increase them when shooting at a Harlequin wearing a holosuit - perhaps triple them? Maybe also impose a penalty on hitting him in close-combat, perhaps -20%?

You could also give it other effects - for instance it makes the wearer more visible, say +20% to spot him. Or say that you can't make a placed shot on someone wearing a holosuit.

How about something along those lines?

Very nice! :) Her mask looks great and the diamond-pattern is well done - I know what a pain it can be to paint. I'd have reposed her arms though - I never did like the pose of the Callidus model.

Nice model. I do like Kaled's weapon rules idea. Sounds about right for what it does according to the fluff.

thanks, have you any ideas for a deathjester, what can i use as a base for my conversionA Deathjester eh? You really go for powerful characters in your games don't you? :)

Still an Inquisitor scale Deathjester would be cool. If you want one in a long coat, then you could use the judge as a base and resculpt his armour. Or if you're feeling ambitious, you seem to be pretty good at converting and using greenstuff so how about buying one of these (http://www.historexagents.com/shop/hxproductdetail.php?ProductCode=FR54) and sculpting one of your own? If you sculpted the basic shape then you could buy some skulls and bones to detail him from BitzBox. (If you want to see how those armatures look, I've used a few - see here (http://www.the-conclave.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=232&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=60) and here (http://www.specialist-games.com/inquisitor/forum_b/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10883)). Otherwise, you might want to look at alternate manufacturers and see if you can see something that would work - Andrea does a nice line of 54mm miniatures. In fact the Historex (http://www.historexagents.com/shop/) site is a good place to look.

It's not powerful characters i like its just i like a challange:)

ehat would a deathjester be armed with, in the old harlequin codex they could have a load of options like a missile launcher, ithink

It's not powerful characters i like its just i like a challangeI've always thought Inquisitor was the perfect excuse to look at character types not normally seen on the 40k battlefield - why not build an Eldar following one of the lesser known paths next. Not a warrior or seer, just some sort of civilian (craftsman, ambassador, scholar) who's got caught up in the murky world of Inquisitor - that would be cool.

ehat would a deathjester be armed with, in the old harlequin codex they could have a load of options like a missile launcher, ithinkHeavy weapons - shuriken cannons, missile launchers, lascannons, brightlances have all been options in the past. I'm not a huge Eldar expert - most of my sources are quite a few years old, but I think the Shrieker Cannon would be most appropriate for a model. It's like a shuriken cannon, but instead of firing a hail of discs it fires a single shot - one impregnated with virulent toxins which overload the victim's nervous system causing their blood vessels and internal organs to burst in a spectacular fashion, and can even cause the victim to explode! Could be fun :)

Having seen and heard all about your Harlequins I'm really tempted to start on mine - I'll have to hurry up and finish my current projects so I can get on with her.
