I know there is nothing official for the LATD but I was wondering if anyone has tried to make a viable army for them, possibly based off the Apoc datasheet?

I'd personally like to see WD come out with a viable army list possibly containing some traitor guard units to round it out.

people usually use the dark andel army as they have most of the things needed

In 2003, GW released three books letting players get two armies for just over the price of one.

SM players could buy a few Inq models and play DH, for instance.
What a great idea! Many players balked at the thought of starting a 2nd army.
It was just so much work, there was a lot of hesitation - but one or two Units?
From a marketing standpoint, it was a brilliant promotional gimmick.

IG players got WH and LatD. Almost by accident, CSM players got LatD too.

Not long afterward, GW realized it was giving customers a deal, and changed their policy -
No more twofer "Codexes" were ever released until 40kA Allies were introduced.
(And then, it was understood that you were buying at least 3,000 points worth of models.)

So, WH, DH and LatD armies aren't orphaned because there is, or was, anything wrong with them.
Their abandonment is due entirely to GW's indifference to those customers.
Their release of the CSM and CD dexes with no thought for backward compatibility confirms this.

So, what can we do? Well, we can do their work for them.
Hell, Dakka members are all but writing GW's FAQs for them, already.
So, there's enough background to understand what follows.

Here's a modified EoT list for LatD that's as official as a GW FAQ:

Special Rules: Sentries use Units of 10 Mutants (Bosses may not be Vessels).

Each Champ must be attached to a squad of Rebel Guard prior to Deployment.

Plague Champion: 38 Points.
Aspiring Sorcerer: 60 Points. (Incl DBolt)

All HQ Units follow their corresponding Codex entries
for Wargear, Character upgrades and Special Rules.

I've just written up a new army list for lost and the damned. They're nasty imo.

Well, the simplest way by far is to play apocalypse :) other than that, personally I use guard, doctrined up a bit, with conscripts as mutants, oggys as big mutants, an inquisitor as a fallen Inquisitor Radical Sorcerer type, and lots of conversion on the models to make them llok like traitor guard. Works for me...

As long as you have the old Chaos codex, the EoT book works just fine. Just make sure your opponent is ok with it.

Otherwise, counts-as IG works too, maybe with =][= allies to represent CSM, rogue psykers, etc.
